A favourite Christmas carol, I’ll Be Home for Christmas, is never more appropriate than for this year. Usually it stirs memories of family and loved ones, of the warmth and comfort of home. Even though we will all be apart this Christmas, we hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy. We wish you PEACE, peace within your hearts and homes while we join in prayer for peace in our world. We wish you JOY. Joy that flows deep in your heart no matter the storms of life. We ...wish you STRENGTH. Strength for today and hope for tomorrow. We wish you WONDER, the wonder of a child’s eyes beholding Christmas surprises; the WONDER that beholds the beauty in the faces of your loved ones. We sincerely thank each one of you who have supported our cause for the best healthcare in a positive, healing and compassionate environment for Taber and the MD communities. Your gifts have made it possible for residents to stay home longer, patients to have lesser wait times for essential services and tests and for the Taber Health Centre staff to provide the best care possible. Starting this week, This Light Lingers, a virtual drop-in for the broken-hearted during the holidays. It is the Christmas season and perhaps Christmas is even more intense for those who have experienced loss. It is a strange time because everyone else seems to go merrily about their way while your heart aches. Sometimes you wonder if the Season will ever be the same. FCSS is presenting a Seniors Wellness Workshop December 2nd at 10:00am through Zoom. Enjoying the Holidays is an upbeat presentation about managing holiday stresses and will be presented by Bryan Bullock, a counselor with FCSS. There are growing numbers of COVID cases in our area and we understand that people are getting tired of what is happening in our world right now. As a community partner, we have been asked to share this video about the importance of masking for the LGM community. As we get more LGM resources we will pass them along. We can’t thank you enough for attending our Big Screen Harvest Party and hope that you enjoyed the concert! While everything about this was new to us, we couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome. The concert was enjoyed by hundreds of fans and the community support to put this together has been fantastic! If you see our sponsors out in the community please thank them for a wonderful event, we couldn’t have put it together without them. We are still counting the donations... that have come in and will let you know our total in the next couple weeks. Our text-to-donate campaign will end on October 31st and donations will be accepted at the Foundation office as well. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations. Funds raised will support our local healthcare team our doctors, nurses, hospital staff and public health workers who work so hard to care for our communities. Money raised will fund the Greatest Needs, which allows us to support the most current and urgent local healthcare needs including the renovations to the Labour and Delivery Suites, overhead ceiling lifts and bariatric equipment.
