The 5 Principles of Tai Chi are still as valid today as ever. Adhering to them can elevate your tai chi. Revisiting them can accelerate your understanding. Gett...ing someone to help you with your form on a regular basis can be very helpful. 1. Straight line from back heel to back of head, including and especially the cervical vertebrae. 2. Establish a vertical pillar with the front knee to bubbling spring in the front foot. (No Tower of Pizza) There may be a slight inclination, usually during the dragon stretching the spine, but the knee shouldn't pass the toes. 3. Back foot at 45 degrees to the line from the inside of the front foot to the heel of the back foot. IN stepping is the front foot being in overlapping that line. You should see an inch or so of the floor behind you if you step directly towards a mirror. 4. Squaring the hips is simply the line between the to hip points is perpendicular to the weight bearing foot direction, front or back. 5. Equal and opposite forces - both hands have intention and are either equal or opposite to each other with your tiger's mouth and intention. See more

One of our instructors leading online practice sessions from the garden. We will continue to offer online tai chi practice session and outdoor tai chi practices. Given rising Ontario case number, in person classes will remain suspended in Ontario for now.

It was a little chilly Friday morning but as long as some of us can manage mittens and sabres we should be all right for the next little while.
