My good friend Ben Johnson who operates Alberta’s premier bicycle touring company Rocky Mountain Madness, is offering a five night six day tour in Canada’s most scenic area of the Rocky Mountains. The tour departs from Jasper Alberta and goes to Canmore Alberta following the beautiful Jasper Banff highway. The tour then turns around and returns to Jasper. You will enjoy this challenging ride even more this year as there are fewer buses, camper vans and the road has been recently paved. The dates are August 25 to the 30 th. Total distance is 700+ Km. After 3 months living in downtown Edmonton and missing 4 tours due to injury and COVID-19 I decided to take a solo circle tour to Banff and back to Edmonton, about 1000k total. The word got out and I ended up having 4 friends join me. Just finished day four and enjoying the freedom. Staying in hotels and self supporting.

We just finished a 16 day tour of Nicaragua. A good time was had by all on the 4 riders, guide and driver. The tour took us to Isla Ometepe, Granada, Managua, Montilamar beach, Leon, the White cities, San Juan del Sur and three stops in Costa Rica. Finished the cycling part of this trip. I turn in the rental bike today after 932 km and 4356 m climbing. It was a nice flat ride trough Bavaria. Lakes, streams, rivers, forest, beautiful small towns and cities. Weather was ok with a few days of rain and a couple of cold days. Going to jump on a train and spend the weekend in Strasbourg France. It is supposed to be a beautiful city. Yesterday was a religious holiday and the bike path into Frankfurt was very crowded. There were plenty of parties along the river with most people arriving by bike.

Did not think I did the wine drinking on the bridge as well as I could do so I went back when the sun came out about 6:30.
