YAAAAARG. ‘Tis Christmas tide and yer favourite pirate cheese has landed on the shores of the mighty Wascana Our only wheel of Cornish Yarg is open at Takeaway. While we think YARG sounds like a great pirate exclamation, the name is actually much simpler: this gray beauty is from Cornwall and gray spelled backwards is YAAAAARG. Mild and lactic, with a unique texture similar to a buttery, pressed feta, this beauty is wrapped in nettle leaves and has many adoring fans. Striking and accessible, the Yarg will be plundered quickly. Avast mateys!
We’ve just cracked this round ball of goodness! Chimay Vieux is beautiful, smooth, washed in beer, and to boot ethical! The Trappist monks that make this cheese donate the profits to the less fortunate Salty, balanced, a little bit of nip and a little bit of bitterness this is a great cheese to try with a cream or red ale from one of our amazing local brewers

New cheese alert! Le Pave de Herve is a fave amongst Belgian cheese enthusiasts. Do with that what you will! If you like some STANK on your cheese - this soft cheese has a BIG aroma and a strong flavour that grows with age. Fans of the Epoisses and Chimay Rouge should definitely give this one a try!

CHRISTMAS CHEEEEEESE It’s the Saturday before Christmas and that means the Tomme au Marc de Raisin is here! This raw milk cows cheese is matured and packed in spent grapes from wine making (called marc!). Firm and slightly tart, the flavour of the Marc permeate the cheese. Grab a wedge before it’s gone!

One of the most sought after cheeses in the world, this rare and seasonal cheese comes all the way from Switzerland. Made with summer milk from the happy cows that graze the border with France, this woodsy, funky, runny beauty is encased in spruce and best enjoyed slightly warmed or gently baked. ... Presenting our favourite easy and decadent Friday night dinner: CHEESE MESS Toss some raclette in a skillet for a six minute broil with a bebe bit of olive oil and paprika.
