I am opening a second location for MUSIC FOR YOUNG CHILDREN (MYC) classes at Caledon Academy of the Arts, 15964 Airport Road Caledon East, on Sundays beginning September 8 at 10am. MYC helps participants (children and adults) develop a firm, fundamental understanding of music using a multi-sensory approach involving note-reading, theory, finger-play techniques, history, ear training, solfege, harmonization, sight reading, composition and rhythm ensembles to provide stud...ents with a carefully layered skill set. Students work in small groups (4-6) with a parent present who participates in the program alongside their child. The program teaches young children 3 years 7+ the language of music through the use of games, manipulatives, stories, songs and hands-on keyboard playing.
