I’ve always wanted an island of my very own!! Today I made one. It started because I needed a place to store my ever growing collection of cookbooks (they’re on both sides)....what can I say? I’m #oldschool I also wanted to keep as many appliances as I could off the counters! I’ve been saving some wonderful crates the previous homeowner had left behind (used to ship machine parts back in the day) and cleaned them up, attached them together, added sturdy castors and a clearance butcher block Grand total?: $180 and some elbow grease #reducereuserepurpose #talesfromthebabecave #thebsidepg

#1971 was a pretty good year!! Between working on restoring a house, taking care of the insane menagerie of cats & dogs and putting the yards to bed for the fall I found some time for a little #creativeselfcare I’m not sure if it’s going to end up a cat bed...and just be honest EVERYTHING here is a cat bed...or if I’m going to back light it into a bar....either way #ilikeit and **WARNING**IF YOU TRY THIS make sure you are extra careful with these old TV tubes...they explode (so I’m told) do some info digging and BE SAFE!!

Once upon a time there was an adorable little built in desk in an adorably funky little house.
