As of June 1, 125 playgrounds throughout the City’s park system and all playgrounds within the Surrey School district’s 101 elementary schools will be re-opened.... The City will also be opening all of it's eight skateparks as of May 30. Surrey’s COVID-19 Compliance and Enforcement Team will be monitoring the sites to educate the public and assist, should any concerns be observed.

We know many parents in BC are anxious about sending their kids back into classrooms and child care. Every parent must make the best decision for their kids and... family. Here are some of the things we know about kids & COVID-19: COVID-19 has a very low infection rate in kids. If infected, kids have milder symptoms (if any) and very few become critically ill. There has been very little transmission involving children outside of household settings. What to keep in mind if you child is returning to school or child care: If your child is feeling sick, have them stay home. No exceptions. Your child should wash their hands with soap and water, often. Teens should practice physically distancing with people outside their household or bubble. Young kids (who can't physical distance) should limit physical contact with people outside their household or child care setting. DIY KINETIC SAND I have been trying to make a good, easy and taste safe version of kinetic sand for the longest time . I’m so excited for you guys to try thi...s out. It is almost identical to the DIY snow I shared a few months ago. This is just colored and pretty . It really does look and feel like kinetic sand . Watch until the end . YOU’LL NEED: -1 cup baking soda -1/2 cup sugar -1/2 cup corn starch -1 tbsp cream of tartar -4 tbsp of water, separated -Food coloring -Medium bowl -Whisk INSTRUCTIONS: 1Pour the baking soda, sugar, corn starch and cream of tartar into a bowl. Mix well. 2Add a few drops of food coloring to 1/4 cup water 3Add 2 tbsp of water to the mixture and mix using a whisk 4Add another 2 tbsp of water and mix well using the whisk. You should have a snow like fluffy texture. 5Place in the refrigerator until cool. 6Remove from refrigerator and have fun in the snow . Storage: Place in a zip close bag or air tight container with no air inside.
