On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the 6-million Jewish lives taken and countless others lost to the Nazi regime. We honour those who survived, offering our support. And we mourn the many souls lost, families separated, and lives irreparably altered. We pledge to never forget, and we say "Never again."... https://www.facebook.com/170493316096/posts/10157424516586097/?d=n

BREAKING While they continually target law abiding gun owners, the Liberal/NDP coalition just voted AGAINST a bill that would enact STRONGER PENALTIES against criminals who use GUNS illegally smuggled into Canada.

Canada saw the biggest increase in non-financial sector debt in 2020, surpassing Japan, the US and the UK. Canada’s Debt-to-GDP ratio increased more than 75 percentage points. Our trajectory is approaching 1996 debt crisis level. Unfortunately, the current Finance Minister continues to downplay the possible impact of debt buildup if interest rates rise above their current levels. We had a taste of what could be ahead for Canada back in November, immediately following Pfizer’...s announcement of the 90% effective COVID vaccine. Ten year bond rates rose from .64% to .75% overnight. While change was very small, when calculated over the approximate $330 Billion governemnt debt it means an added cost of $363 million dollars in interest. That represents almost the entire CSIS budget for the year wiped out in just a.11% interest rate shift. The Finance Minister continues to reassure Canadians that payments on our debt are affordable due to low interest rates. However, Canada is not alone in this world and there and many factors that impact interest rates including our global neighbours. In a recent interview with Michael Campbell, the Parliamentary Budget Officer Yves Giroux was worried that most of the current borrowing is short-term. Long-term 10 to 30 year bonds would ensure much more stability. But the PBO made it clear that there are currently no buyers for Canada’s long-term debt at such low rates. Would you want a ten-year government of Canada Bond at .75%? So who is actually buying these bonds at record low rates? So far it’s mainly the Bank of Canada, which now holds $355 Billion in federal debt (treasury bills and government of Canada bonds) in order to keep our interest rates low because no one else is willing. How long can they keep doing it? That’s the big question. Right now, the government is banking on the idea that, against all historical evidence, they can do it forever. So what’s the solution? The government needs a recovery plan that releases the power of our Canadian resources, productivity and ingenuity Keep an eye on your mailbox for our monthly newsletter with more information!

According to the Prime Minister, using the term The Great Reset makes you a conspiracy theorist. Check out the Bank of Canada https://www.bankofcanada.ca//08/presentation-2020-08-20.pdf

Today on the International Day of the Girl, Canadians call on the government to stop the misogynistic practice of Gender Selective Abortion. No girl should lose her life simply because her parents prefer a boy. I support MP Cathay Wagantall’s Private Members Bill C-233 and I believe all members will work to make sure we protect girls, no matter what age!

So many advocacy groups are fighting to ensure euthanasia safeguards are maintained......why won’t the government listen?! We have to get this right. Lives depend on it! #MAiDtoMAD British Columbia Aboriginal Network On Disability Society (BCANDS)

We need every tool in the tool box to fight COVID-19 and that includes a good supply of rapid tests. Flip flopping on rapid tests shows that this government doesn't have a plan.

We are excited to announce the birth of our 13th grandchild, David Owen! Owen means little warrior. He has already fought the battle of his life when he was diagnosed with a cleft lip and pallete at 20 weeks gestation. The offer to abort and try again for a baby without the imperfection was on the table. Thankfully, he was loved and valued for being a unique gift from God as is every human being on this planet!... For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139: 13 - 17

How is it possible that the Liberals have the power to shut the volume off on Parlvu? Shouldn’t that be run by a neutral House of Commons?!

It is heartbreaking that the wonder drug Trikafta is still not available to Canadians suffering from Cystic Fibrosis. The Health Minister continues to blame the pharmaceutical company Vertex for not applying to be able to sell in Canada. The only reason they have not applied is because of the changes SHE is making to our drug approval system. We are calling on the Prime Minister to stand up for Cystic Fibrosis patients in Canada so they can get this life saving treatment b...efore it’s too late! #cfgetloud

All the committee was asking for were documents that were not redacted by staff but by the law clerk as originally agreed to. This same ploy was done at the Health Committee as well. All documents were redacted by staff before going to the law clerk. Openness and transparency are key to truth and good order.

Last night we had a Finance Committee meeting that was like something out of 1984 and today ....... the video of the meeting has been removed from Parlvu.

Bill C-7 creates 2 types of citizens: Able-bodied Canadians who qualify for Suicide Prevention services. Disabled Canadians who qualify for Medically Administered Death (MAD) services. ... This is absolute MADness! "The COVID-19 pandemic has brought us together as a nation to protect our most vulnerable. Canadians supported putting safeguards in place for the sake of the common good. Against this backdrop, it is shocking that our federal government is proposing to remove almost all the safeguards that were previously put in place to protect the vulnerable under MAID. Under this bill, you no longer have to be dying to receive medical assistance in dying, therefore the acronym no longer fits. The procedure more accurately becomes medically administered death (MAD)." "The message that C-7 sends to those with chronic illnesses or disabilities is that their lives are not worth living and that they would be better off dead. As physicians, we fear that this system would quickly change from one that gives people a choice to die, to one that coerces people to die. It’s pure MADness! https://nationalpost.com//opinion-proposed-changes-to-maid

It’s that time! Yesterday Byron and I headed off to meet the team The Pharmacy - Langley to get our yearly flu shot. This year it is particularly important since we know our healthcare system can be easily overloaded and is already struggling to catch up with a huge backlog due to COVID. Byron and I went as soon as possible since I would hate to take up any of those sparse resources by getting a flu when I could have avoided it with just this little precaution. ... It was a real privilege to chat with the team at The Pharmacy Langley. We got the grand tour from Narinder who is probably the nicest pharmacy owner I’ve ever chatted with! It turned out that Narinder was wearing a polo shirt with an @intercontinentaltruckbodybc logo on it where a number of my family and friends are employed. We had to ask what his connection was with ITB. Long story short, it turns out that Narinder and my brother-in-law, who has long worked there, have known each other already for 16 years. It certainly is a small world. Moes, Rhonda and Jane signed us in and Amrita got us prepped for our shots. I asked Amrita what made her go into this line of work. She explained how when she was young she used to go with her parents to the pharmacy and, since she was the only English speaker in the family, she translated the information they gave regarding her mom and dads prescriptions. She remembers how helpful and friendly the pharmacists always were and thought that she would like to be that front line person who connects to the neighbourhood with a helping hand. I can say first hand.....Amrita is amazing at what she does. Her painless flu shots and lovely chair side manner made our visit very pleasant. Team The Pharmacy Langley is accepting appointments for your flu shot today. They are located in downtown Langley at Unit 116 - 5501 - 204 st. Make sure you tell them Tamara sent you!
