A beautiful forest elopement from this past fall! Being a part of Lei & Drew’s wedding was one of our favourite days of 2020. L&D are a couple of angels, the vendors involved were our favourite kind - joyful, beautiful pros and the setting? The middle of the forest. There is nothing we love more than peaceful design time, outdoors with the birds. Here’s to many more beautiful, love filled days this year. Our 2021 books are now open (they were closed until the New Year to give... couples impacted by Covid some time to shuffle their dates). Spring & Summer are completely booked up but we still have some fall wedding dates available. We cannot wait for 2021 weddings to begin and for celebrations of love to fill the air again! Happy New Year everyone! Just got some surprise film back, featuring the shop and a favourite install that I made just before we moved. These photos were taken this time, last year. As of two weeks ago, the building is gone and driving by feels a bit wild... Anyhow, here’s to making things just for you!

Christmas is sure to look a lot different this year. Many of us won’t be able to gather together in the ways that are most familiar and the ways in which we look forward to all year. I don’t have all the answers, but I do know flowers soothe and carry our presence. Whether you’re hoping to send to a loved one you won’t be able to see this year or keeping your home in mind, a beautiful TF bouquet is the golden ticket. We promise to infuse any and every home with the most heave...nly scent and bring extra warmth, one ranunculus at a time. This year we will be following the way of those classic neutrals. Total perfection! We know that smaller, intimate weddings weren’t the initial plan for most couples this year but my oh my, are they ever surprising hearts everywhere with the most beautiful energy! Julie and Andrew’s wedding is a day I will forever cherish and remember with the sweetest smile on my face. The volume, hilarity and joy was at an all time high - all day long! We did her bridal bouquet reveal on the kitchen floor (why, I’m still not totally sure ), we cried toge...ther multiple times throughout the day and because the getting ready location was the same as the party location (not the norm) - we had Floral Cheerleaders! What do I mean? We won the jackpot with the sweetest Mother combo. Tracy and Cheryl must have come out into the backyard every 30 minutes to admire and praise the ongoing floral transformation. Haha ! It was incredible and filled our floral arranging hearts with so much joy. Usually we set up with not a soul around and this was SO much more fun! Our floral cages and chicken wire bases have never blushed so hard ! This morning I am really thinking about how Covid-19 has changed the way we keep space for our loved ones. Now that we are able to see and hug eachother, it seems like the power when gathering has been infused with a new richness. The love, kindness and support for one another that is being expressed is through the roof and the energy on Saturday was breathtaking. Everyone was so happy to see each other, to celebrate and to share an unbelievably special moment. Intimate weddings sure do simplify and amplify the beautiful promise that’s being made and that gives me so much life. Thank you A&J for having me as your wedding florist (I have now gained the sweetest pair as friends til the end), to @weethreesparrows for capturing the magic in her beyond lovely way, and to @bohoweddingsca for the beautiful arch that was added in at the 11th hour and made this moment perfect! Sunday would have been our 4th Annual Peony Pop Up however, with a heavy heart it doesn’t feel like it should happen this year. With this weekend’s important protest and the pop up penciled in for the next day, we’ve decided to cancel the Peony Pop Up in efforts of keeping everyone safe. In place, we’ll be opening up preorders for a very merry Porch Side Pick Up. We know there are many eager to get their hands on the local, heirloom gold. Peony bunches will be available for preorder on our website tomorrow (starting at 4pm). All Pick Ups will be for Sunday morning/early afternoon. We anticipate selling out online quite quick so set those alarms. We’re sorry, we’re bummed but ultimately we just love you all very much. Xoxo, TF!

This past weekend’s gorgeous elopement setting for Sanny and Anthony . Weddings are taking on new forms and couples everywhere are having to elope, postpone or do a little bit of both! Our darling couple embraced their love, their OG date and had an intimate ceremony, following that good ol’ 5 person cap. Their photographer and videographer were their witnesses and with the help of an incredible planner, the vendors were able to pace our set up seamlessly. @bohoweddingsca we...’re a complete dream, setting up the rooftop in pure style. @kassiatjiaevents was the mastermind with a perfect vision . @mariadenommephotos lit up the whole day with her incredible personality and kindness. We got to design the sweetest florals for our cherished couple and make it as lovely and as whimsical as possible. Even though it wasn’t as the couple had initially planned, I will never forget how excited the groom looked when he arrived holding the hand of their sweet little son. Both of their faces were so filled with love and the importance of the day radiated. As a florist, I get the honor of sharing so many tender and beautiful moments with each couple as the day begins. I am often one of the first vendors they see. I get to gush about how beautiful the bride looks as she’s mid way ready and I often feel like I need to ~tone~it~down~ because I literally LOVE to freak out . I can’t help it and it’s so much more than just an outward beauty reaction. I often feel like it’s a culminating expressing of the relationship we’ve built. It’s a moment we get, before that aisle moment happens and despite how Covid has changed a lot of things, the presence of love was at an all time high. I wasn’t able to stay at the ceremony due to the 5 person limit but I can only imagine how that energy carried on. Being a part of Sanny & Anthony’s elopement was truly one of the greatest gifts and has reshaped TF’s floral loving heart in a big way. Forever grateful to S&A for having me as their florist and to the incredible team that worked so hard and beautifully to make this day as magical as it was! See more

Please join us on Sunday, May 31st from 10-12pm, shower your heart with the the most magical moments of Spring and take a stroll through our favourite garden in the city! Nestled behind this beautiful home (the first house built in Blackfriars back in 1855) brings an acre of the most magical of gardens care of @susanjoryinteriors and @blackfriarsnursery. We’re talking a b...lanket of alluvial soil gold from all of the Petersville flooding back in the day which now continues to produce the most stunning, hearty and happy peonies I’ve ever had the pleasure of harvesting, holding and bundling up in bouquets. Each year these bushes yield literal moments of magic for us. By us, I mean the growers, the florist and the community. We gather, we gush over the 50+ varieties, we praise the heritage in our neighbourhoods and we celebrate how community has made it all possible. IT IS THE BEST DAY OF THE YEAR AND I WILL CAPS LOCK MY LOVE FOR THE PEONY POP UP UNTIL THE ANTS COME HOME! This year it will of course look a little different but we’re remaining grateful for the fact that the nursery can still be shared. We will play by the rules and there will be a long line spaced out with chalk and love. Unfortunately there will be no lemonade or sweet tea picnics annnnd no garden tours either. We’ll have to sun check those details for next year but we will still be selling these gorgeous stems for you to take home. You will still be able to walk through and soak up all the zen at a physically distanced space, as we mindfully take note of peony lovers grazing the scents. Peonies will be $8 a stem. You can come for a small few or go big and splurge the day away, just be sure to bring that paper because it will be *CASH ONLY*. And YES we will be storing it in the freezer for 72 hours after . I think that’s why they call it cold hard cash . This post has been a long one but at least there were a couple jokes included right!? Thank you for reading and thank you for getting excited with us! The last couple of months have been a real rollercoaster for small businesses and as tough as it has been, TF has been so fortunate. There have been days when I’ve felt completely flat and then I will get a heart melting email about how beautiful a bouquet was, how it filled your home with the best fragrance or how a family member was brought to tears over the sight and gesture. Thank you for sending these messages along and for sharing our blooms through your stories and feeds. I am so humbled, touched and lucky to be your florist. These words are so uplifting and bring so much light as we move and shake through this new normal. I’ve had the total delight in seeing some of you on delivery days and seeing your bright and shining smiles fills my heart to the brim with hope and energy to keep cart wheeling with posies in my pockets. Flowers make our self-isolation world’s go round! Over the past few week’s since restructuring our entire business () and starting back up with contactless deliveries around the city, we have seen a complete surge in weekly floral orders placed and an overwhelming response with flower lovers wanting to support our business. (Thank heavens that this has been the case for us ). Flowers really do make these stay-at-home days brighter... Understatement of the year!? We ha...ve had to change operations quite a bit around here. Myself and the beloved designers and freelancers that I usually hire during wedding season are on a bit of a break until this all lightens up. In order to keep everyone safe, I have been a team of one handling deliveries (with gloves on) from start to finish. That means driving hours out of town to pick up shipments, conditioning flowers, designing arrangements, delivering them to your door-step and trying to keep up with the hundreds of orders coming in every week. All while gently e-hugging and offering as much support as possible to our 2020 sweethearts who are having to postpone their weddings. It’s been quite the transition but your overwhelming support and love has meant the world! Being able to bring flowers to you during this time means more than you guys will ever know. I appreciate all of the support from the bottom of my heart! Last week, a dear friend and mega flower lover ordered this arrangement for her sweet mum and wanted to show love for our business in anyway that she could. She gave us full reign on design and shared the sweetest words of encouragement and strength to help bolster the soul of our business. It has been melting my heart to send long distance love in flower form on your behalf and feeling all of your continued warmth puts my being in a puddle! Hand carved prints for sale ! As most of you know, we’ve had to shut down the studio and put a pause on all floral related events/deliveries/porch pick-ups for 2 weeks due to Covid-19. In light of this huge change and in hopes of finding the silver lining, we’ve flipped from floral studio to print shop! We’ve started carving again, greased up the ol’ press and have been slowing down with printmaking. Yesterday in our stories, I shared a bit of our process from tools to ho...w to set up our Vandercook Proof Press. The response was l-o-v-e-l-y! So many questions, such warm feedback and so many people wanting to buy art for their homes. All this to say, we will be printing up a storm and posting more prints that will be for sale, including this 5x7 Peony print that I was working on yesterday. I’m working on getting them up on the website, but in the meantime - if you see anything you’d like to purchase, send us a DM and we’ll ship it right out to you. To our valued customers and flower loving friends In compliance with Doug Ford’s mandate for all non-essential businesses to shut down, we are now closed until further notice. Our world is drastically changing and we must, too. I don’t know about you, but I have been having moments that feel similar to an out-of-body experience with what’s going on. Some days it has felt so real that I’ve shown up to the floral warehouse with puffy eyes from crying the night before, and ...other days I feel completely detached to any notion of what’s going on. It doesn’t feel real, but it is, and we all must do our part. Yesterday was our last day on the road making home deliveries. While making each arrangement and putting together bouquets, my flower heart was so confused. The flowers were beautiful, the roses smelt divine, the sunflowers so cheery. But it was just so sad not knowing when I’d be able to do this again. I cherish the community we have built to no end . This business is my heart and soul, and it is feeling this one huge. I hope this break is only for a of couple weeks, but the truth is that none of us know how this will progress, or how long it’s going to take until we can reach normalcy. Regardless, the tulips will bloom, and the peonies will be here before we know it! If I close my eyes real tight, I can feel that first inhale of those beauties and their magic. We will get through this, and maybe even appreciate flowers and one another in a way unlike before. In the meantime, let’s praise Mother Nature, the magic Spring brings, and love our loved ones as much as we can. We have so much energy and power inside of us. I encourage you all to find extra moments to meditate or connect to that energy, and send warmth and love up and over to the people and places that you cherish most. Plus, it’ll do wonders for your mood and brain . We need to release as much positivity that we can muster in these strange times. All while keeping safe and staying home...
