We are halfway to reaching our goal with only TWO DAYS left to bid in our online auction (www.32auctions.com/tantramarheritage)! Help us reach our goal of $3000 to support the preservation of our past for the future.
The Tantramar Heritage Trust Fundraising Auction CLOSES THIS SATURDAY, November 14th, at 9pm! . . This dramatic, engraved print of a large and powerful eagle is one of the items in our auction (www.32auctions.com/tantramarheritage). It is number 1 in a series of 30, beautifully mounted in a dark brown and gold wooden frame and measuring 16 inches x 16 inches. .... It was created by David Silverberg, a well-known Canadian artist and Fine Arts professor at Mount Allison University for many years. . In his younger years, David studied with Arthur Lismer and was part of a vibrant artistic community including Max Ernst and Marc Chagall. . His delicate, highly detailed coloured engravings revive the classic 'burin' technique which dates back to the 1400s. His recurring images of people, animals, music, and exotic locales are natural extensions of his 'joie de vivre' and are united by their celebration of life. . In 1986, Silverberg was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, London, England, and in 1994, he was appointed a member of the Royal Canadian Academy (RCA). . At $75, this framed, engraved Silverberg print is a bargain. See more
