I received the most beautiful birthday present painted by my super talented sister @nancyyanakyartist from our Mom. This is a painting of the French River in Ontario off hwy 69 at a beautiful tourist centre. If you look closely to the upper right you can see a little bit of a bridge. About 13 years ago I stood on this bridge holding my two sons hands... At the time life was a bit overwhelming and to say busy is an understatement. As we stood there taking in the great beauty... of the rock and trees, a sleek sea kayak glided effortlessly underneath us. Afterwards I called my sister upset that I had to make some positive changes in my life. That year, my two sisters and Mom arranged for me to go kayaking with Nancy in Northern Ontario. This has become an important annual tradition in my life that also gives Nancy the opportunity to source real scenes for her work. Every time I look at this painting I am reminded of the breathtaking beauty of Northern Ontario. It also reminds me to stop, take a breath and feel appreciative.
