Thank you for all the words of support and encouragement with regards to the impact that COVID-19 is having on our industry! Last night @tapestryhall joined hundreds of venues across the country in lighting up their exteriors and interiors red as part of the #lightuplive initiative! Tapestry Hall was glowing red to raise awareness for the live performance/events industry that is still dark due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. ... This industry will also be one of the last to come back due to the effects that the pandemic has had ! Since March venues all across Waterloo Region have had to close their doors, some permanently, others forced to wait it out until it is safe again to gather in these spaces. Hundreds of jobs have been lost across #waterlooregion and businesses in the arts and entertainment sector have been devastated. Last night's display of solidarity was about recognizing these struggles the entertainment industry is facing! Together we can get through this and have high hopes that one day sooner rather than later we will be able to celebrate in our amazing venues across the country!
