After 11 years with my partner, this past summer, we decided to elope. As a wedding photographer who has seen 200 + weddings, secretly getting married, seemed like the right thing for us. Big weddings are fun. I love the party, the pretty details and the gathering of all your favourite people in one place. But it didn’t feel right for us. I wanted the day to be as casual and stress free as possible, as well as different then all those I have had the honour of being apart of.......... - Leah Martin on the unceded territory of the St'át'imc First Nations Vendors Planning - Whistler Elopements Officiating - Steve Stemmler Decor and Design - Bliss Event + Design Videography - Paul Cameron Productions Rentals - Event Rental Works Tent - Wild Havens Hair and Make-up - Natacha Trottier

Our winter wedding season is in full swing with @whistlerelopements! After Laura & James tied the knot, the pouring rain turned to lightly falling snow on our way back to @nitalakelodge. It felt like magic! ... on the unceded territory of the Skwxwu7mesh & Lílwat First Nations - #whistlerweddingphotographer #whistlerweddingphotography #whistlerwinterwedding #whistlerblackcomb #whistlerelopement #whistlercanada #elopeinwhistler #mountainelopement #winterelopement #snowyelopement #rockymtnbride #westcoastweddings #westcoastelope #elopeinstead #junebugweddings @rockymtnbride @junebugweddings @westcoastweddings @wildelopements #wildelopements

Kate + Timber // One of the most beautiful relationships I’ve had the pleasure of documenting. Animals are the bridge between us and the beauty of all that is natural. They show us what's missing in our lives, how to love ourselves more completely & unconditionally. They connect us back to who we are & to the purpose of why we're here." Between the heavy smoke that filled the valley & the rain that washed it away, there was a beautiful evening when Adam said his vows in rhyme & Karley punctuated hers with quotes from Hamilton. I love these hilarious animal loving newlyweds! Congrats again Karley + Adam. @whistlerelopements

Growth + Change. Sometimes it happens slowly, little by little. So subtle that we keep adjusting what we deem ‘normal’ and don’t notice it happening. While other times it is abrupt. It can feel all consuming and out of our control. Something that requires a radical shift. Our bodies, our cognizance, our relationships with others. They are all in a constant state of change.... It has come up in conversation a lot recently, the idea of ‘getting back to normal’. When the reality is that nothing ever goes back to anything. I think there’s beauty in that truth. Between the pandemic, the mass (albeit horrifically late) awakening to systemic racism, and unignorable environmental issues we are collectively facing -the idea of going backwards seems absurd. We’re all just walking each other home. -Ram Dass
