Take this into the weekend: as an intuitive eater you can literally eat whatever you want, whenever you want. It does not have to look pretty, have a healthy modification, fit into ANY expectation, standard or be anything other than want you want and how you want to feel. You have permission to eat pizza for breakfast, ice cream for lunch and any southern diner special you choose.

In prepping for @reset.series panel discussion this weekend, I started thinking about my breakfast routine and how I pretty much drink a variation of the same smoothie everyday. What’s my motivation for this? Well, I have never been a big breakfast food person, and after trying cereals, eggs, overnight oats, toast... I finally found a chocolatey banana peanut butter combo that feels and tastes just right. It’s filing but light, tasty and energizing. It works for me. If your not already, here’s your permission to choose your breakfast (and other meals and snacks) based on what you like and what feels good - not based on what I’m having, other nutritionists are having, a point system, a carb system or any type of external pressure. #intuitiveeating

I always look forward to the inspiring messages emails that pop into my inbox from anti-diet gurus like @chr1styharrison + @isabelfoxenduke (if you’re not already following them, you should be!). They remind me why I love spreading the non-diet and #haes message. Today @isabelfoxenduke wrote that Health is not binary...Health is an ebbing, flowing, living web of choices and experiences, that we navigate differently from day to day, depending on our ever-changing priorities, environment, and personal circumstances. On the fence if the anti-diet life is right for you? Here’s some sweet love from one of my first intuitive eating clients: Coming from a past of restrictive eating and never-ending cycle of diets, I never thought a positive relationship with food or my body was in the cards for me.
