When it comes to marketing your business, video can be a powerful tool for expanding your reach, building deeper connections with your audience, and ultimately generating more sales Here are 5 types of videos to consider creating for your own business: ... 1 An About Us or Welcome Video: Introduce your audience to the people behind your business or brand. This type of video can be featured on your website, or can be sent to paying clients once they've secured your product or service. 2 How-To Videos: Show your audience how to make the best use of your product or service by creating short and concise how-to videos. If your service or product is complex, consider creating a series of videos breaking down each phase or step of your process. 3 Testimonial Videos: Collecting video testimonials of consumers using your product or service is one of the best forms of social proof you can get. Video testimonials can be converted into Facebook ads, featured on your website, and even transcribed into written format to include in promotional marketing materials. 4 Educational Videos: For the fence-sitters who aren't sure whether your product or service is right for them, create video content where you answer frequently asked questions to put their mind at ease. You can also this video format to share tips and tricks that extend your expertise beyond simply your product or service and establish you as an expert in your field. 5 Entertainment Videos: Similar to the "About Us" video, entertainment videos serve to further humanize your brand, can be used to make your audience laugh, or inspire them to take action. How different would our world be if more women had been main characters in Greek mythology, the Bible, or in popular films that we collectively know and love? I heard Elizabeth Lesser talk about this on @brenebrown's podcast a couple of months ago, and it shook me to my core. There's no denying that the stories we tell shape the world that we live in.... Representation freaking matters. The Queen’s Gambit has inspired an entire generation of young girls to learn chess. Kamala Harris becoming Vice President is redefining what’s possible for women in politics. If we see it, we can be it. It's why I am so passionate about giving women the tools and resources they need to become video creators. To be a videographer in what is a male-dominated industry is an act of rebellion in and of itself. When women are the storytellers, the whole damn world changes Spread the love: tag your favourite female creators and storytellers below! . . . . #femalevideographer #femalecontentcreator #femalefilmmaker #womenwhofilm

7 Things 2020 Taught Me: Who you choose to surround yourself with becomes even more important in times of crisis. Your time and energy is precious. Protect that sh*t at all costs. If you don't set and uphold boundaries for yourself, don't expect anyone else to respect your boundaries, either.... Seeing the good in every person or situation is a hard but necessary skill to learn. Starting a gratitude journal was hands-down the best habit I implemented in 2020. I am capable of doing hard things. While it's nice to have a "plan" for your future, setbacks will inevitably appear when you least expect them to and all you can truly control is your attitude when faced with these challenges. I will never take toilet paper for granted again. What's your biggest takeaway from 2020? Let me know in the comments See more

How do you know when you've found "the one"? From 2009 to 2011, I thought I wanted to be a music video producer. From 2011 to 2013, I thought I wanted to be a vlogger.... From 2013 to 2016, I thought I wanted to be a sports videographer. From 2016 to 2018, I thought I wanted to be a travel videographer. It wasn't until the Fall of 2018 that I realized how much I loved wedding videography, and how good of a fit the industry was for my style of shooting, my personality, and the skillsets that I had developed over the years. ...You guys, I spent nearly 10 YEARS dabbling in all kinds of videography projects before I found my calling It took a freaking decade of trial and error, embarrassing screw-ups, late nights spent editing footage, and a whole lot of self-doubt before I eventually stumbled across the perfect type of video work for me. I knew I had found "the one" not only because I woke up excited every day to create wedding films for my wedding clients, but also because it felt like all of the work I had done over the last decade had been preparing me for my role as a wedding filmmaker. If you're just starting your video creation journey, my best advice is to try your hand at as many types of video as possible. Give yourself permission to experiment, to create without any expectations, be patient, and for goodness sakes, please don't take yourself too seriously. There’s no quick fix when it comes to finding your passion. You just have to keep creating and believe that it will find you when the time is right #ottawaweddingvideographer #womenwhofilm #torontoweddingvideographer
