Every 40 seconds someone in the world dies by suicide. That’s every 40 seconds that a family loses the one they love. Every 40 seconds the world grieves for the impact lost, the dreams never lived out, the change that would have come if only they had stayed. At 17 I chose to stay. I chose to put the pills away. Fast forward 15 years and there are still hard days. But I am so glad I fought through for the better days. My husband is so glad I stayed. My three amazing boys are s...o glad I stayed. I’m living the future hope now that I couldn’t see back then. I chose to trust that what I saw then wasn’t all there was for me. It wasn’t. Not even close. I promise you, you WILL see good days. Hope WILL break through if you keep choosing to go at this another day. And another day. And another day. Please stay. I can’t see a world without you. -K #suicideprevention #hope #chooselife #mentalhealth @camhfoundation @themhcc @jackdotorg @twloha @cmhanational

Do you know that feeling when your heart starts to beat a little faster? When it feels like there is a lump in your throat? Like your thoughts are racing and you can’t get your mind out of the what ifs? The anxiety. The worry. The fear. It can be a little consuming. Overwhelming. And honestly, even isolating. We wanted to pop in to your feed to remind you to slow down, pause your schedule and take a slow, deep breath.... Inhale Exhale Let’s try that one more time. It’s going to be ok. We are going to get through this. You’re not alone. We know these feelings well. Let’s slow our pace, speak truth (out loud if you have to) and take this one day at a time. One deep breath at a time.

Human trafficking is not just a global issue, it is happening in Canada, in Ontario and online. As a community of girls that are "for her" we want to make sure that we speak up & educate ourselves when there are girls around our country being hurt & mistreated. We refuse to stay silent! Here is our challenge to you. Take FIVE minutes out of your evening and do these three quick things:... 1) Save this post so you have the Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline number saved. 2) Find an anti-human trafficking organization on Instagram and click "follow". 3) Do a quick google search to read up on what to look for in case someone you know or encounter may be in a vulnerable situation. By staying educated & speaking up, we are CONVINCED that you have the ability to make a difference! Let’s do this Know of any organizations that are fighting against human trafficking? Let us know in the comments

We are grieving over the loss of a precious life. Broken for our friends of colour who are hurting. We are mad for you & hurt for you. . We are so sorry. . Injustice exists, and it’s not ok. It will never be ok.... . When we feel at a loss for words, we realize how much more crucial it is to not be silent. Let’s not leave it up to our brother and sisters of colour to do all the work. They are tired. And rightfully so. . Let’s not make this a one time conversation. We must see better, learn better, listen better, and be better. . We each need to do our part to drive change! . #icantbreath #justice See more

Peace . Whether this year’s Christmas looks like a full house, cheerful voices and baked goods galore, or a weary mind, heavy heart and faint spirit...there is peace to be felt. Amidst the baking, cooking, wrapping, unwrapping, last minute visits to the store, long drives to close friends, the heartache of an empty seat at the dinner table, and choosing which parent to visit first this year...There is peace. It’s not on the other side of the Christmas party cleanup, it doesn...’t only show up after the turkey is done cooking and it doesn’t hide behind the tree. It’s right here in the chaos of things. . This week we were reminded that we don’t have to wait until the holidays are over to find our peaceful moment. In fact, peace comes out at its boldest in the loudest of storms. So in the middle of it all, take some deep breaths, step away to your safe space, laugh at the mess and the burnt cookies - there is peace here. . Tomorrow we start our final week of the advent series with LOVE - the one that ties it all together! See more
