Coming to your home theatre... Tuesday, June 2nd at 8:00 pm ET... The world premiere of Tawingo College's online musical: "ONCE UPON A TIME AT TAWINGO!"

Tawingo College 28.10.2020

Every year, we usually put on a theatrical production in the Spring that involves all of our students. This year, Tawingo College is presenting an original musical written by our very own Ms. Robinet. Our Tawingo College families took on the roles of costume and prop designers, directors, and cinematographers, all in the effort to support our cast members as they learned their lines, made decisions about how they would deliver them, and followed the important notes provided to them by their Drama teachers. Over 500 different videos were edited together by Ms. Vanasse to create the final movie. It was an immense undertaking, but the final product is complete and ready to be shared with the world! We are so proud of our students, and of our entire Tawingo College community for coming together to make this happen. Enjoy the show!

If anyone had told us in September, what the spring would look like at Tawingo College, we would not have believed them. The final days of the school year at Tawingo College are typically magical: lots of time spent outside roaming the trails, playing at the waterfront and Birch Beach, picnic lunches, BBQs, bike riding, school wide games, garden work, puddle jumping, canoeing and kayaking, critter and animal sightings, end of year trips, etc. We are so sad that we were not ab...le to participate in these things, together, this year. These are unprecedented times, indeed. This is not the way we imagined the school year ending. It is not the way we wanted the school year to end. It is not the way we wanted Tawingo College to end. The harsh realityour harsh realityis that losing a summer at Camp Tawingo makes it impossible for us to sustain the school. The current health crisis has forced us to close the doors of our beloved "little school by the lake". If anyone had warned us, 24 years ago, that Tawingo College would close because of a global pandemic, we would not have believed them. And it would not have stopped us, either. We feel so blessed to have had the privilege to spend our days with such beautiful children, build community with so many loving and supportive families, and work alongside the best teachers anywhere in the world. We feel so blessedand gratefuland we are heartbroken to see it end. Our focus now is Summer Camp, 2021 - our new 60th summer. The gates to Camp Tawingo are open and we hope our College families will walk, run, ride, drive through them to visit often. See more

As the Laughtons travelled one direction down Ravenscliffe road, Mrs. Pearse and Ms. V cleaned up the other direction and found lots of garbage, recyclables, and "treasures"including a car bumper and an odd bag of animal bones!

Happy Earth Day! The Tawingo College students are strong advocates for and stewards of our beautiful world. So EARTH DAY is a BIG DEAL around here! If we were all at school together today, we would spend some of the day beautifying our little piece of Earth. So, students, today we challenge you to beautify your own yard, or your neighbourhood, or your street. If you are up for the challenge, please send us before and after pictures so we can see the results of your hard wo...rk! Don't forget to wear gloves, separate recycling from garbage, don't pick up anything that you think might be dangerous, and stay a safe distance away from others. If you find any treasure - we'd love to see it! Thank you for caring about Earth! See more
