Update as of July, 2020: We continue to prepare income tax returns using social distancing procedures via our lock box drop off procedure at our NEW OFFICE location. We are at the same address as always but have moved to Unit 107 on the other side of the parking lot. Update as of Mar 22, 2020: Mayor Marianne Meed Ward has now declared a state of emergency for the City of Burlington. As such, Tax-Pertise Services will be temporarily adjusting our business practices until further notice to the following: - We will not be serving any clients face to face during the state of emergency and have expanded our remote service options for clients with emergency situations. - For new or existing clients who have not yet dropped in any information fo...r their income tax return preparation yet this year, we ask that you refrain from doing so for the short term until the state of emergency is lifted. If you have extenuating circumstances and require immediate assistance, please call us at (905) 319-6363 and we can discuss your options for remote services. - For clients who have dropped in their income tax return but not yet picked it up, please contact us to review the options for remote pick up. - For clients for whom we have started preparing your return but are awaiting additional information, you may submit your remaining documentation to [email protected] or call us at (905) 319-6363 to discuss your options. To our valued customers: In light of the ongoing concerns around the world surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, it is clear that we must do our part to help. We continue to monitor the situation and wanted to give you an update regarding the actions we are taking to support our clients and staff. The health and well being of our clients and staff is what matters most. We are making some important changes in our office. We are:... - Asking all clients to refrain from visiting our office if they are feeling unwell, have travelled out of the country within the past 14 days, or have been in contact with any individual who has been tested positive for COVID-19 - Requiring visiting clients to wash or sanitize hands upon entry to our office - Suggesting to clients to delay visiting our office if they or a family member are at increased risk - Requesting clients and staff to refrain from direct contact such as shaking hands - Disinfecting the office fully at the beginning of each day and throughout the day While CRA has announced an extension to the income tax filing deadline this year, we recognize the fact that many of our clients would still like to have their income tax return prepared before April 30th so as to prevent any delays to benefit payments from such programs as the GST Credit, Canada Child Benefit, or Trillium Benefits. As such, we will continue to remain open for the time being, but on a more limited basis. Starting Sunday, March 22, we will reduce office hours in an effort to minimize risks. This decision is a precautionary measure to help protect the well being of our community. Beginning Sunday, March 22nd, 2020, our revised hours will be: Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM 6:00 PM Saturday: 9:30 AM 5:00 PM Sunday: CLOSED
