Tanner's Crossing Planning District 24.11.2020

On behalf of the Board of Tanner’s Crossing Planning District we want to let you know that we are here to help you. We know that a drastic change has happened in your life and for others a life altering experience. As we begin the process of rebuilding our community and our homes, it is very important that we continue to obtain building permits for demolition and repair/reconstruction due to the flood. A building permit is required by law for many reasons: ... - to ensure repairs are consistent with Building By-laws and to Zoning By-laws, - to ensure your contractor is meeting current building codes, - to ensure the Development Officer/Building Official provides the necessary inspections of all construction (structural, plumbing, etc.) - to assemble statistics for future development planning, - to assist in accurate records for future climate related disasters. As such, a building permit is required for all damage over $5,000. Fees may be waived for flood related circumstances on an individual basis. If a permit has not been secured, a Stop Work Order can and will be issued until the proper permits and inspections are completed. If you have any questions, please contact: Brian Skatch at 204-867-2364 Office or 204-867-7980 Cell. Office hours are: 8:30am to 12:00 noon, 1:00pm to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
