TEAAM 10.02.2021

Unloading after a mission and reflecting on the beautiful scenery we get to see on the commute home. BC is a stunning, rugged and vast space. The distances we travel to deliver Patient Care, Anywhere are a constant reminder of the time it took to get to definitive care from remote settings prior to TEAAM.

These days we have to be extremely mindful of personal protective equipment and contamination mitigation. Below are a couple of photos from a recent mission as we fly to a remote mountainous scene. Here we can see the isolation barrier between cockpit and flight deck. This is a clear, but flame resistant barrier that protects the pilot in flight.... And of course we utilize triple layer masks, N95 masks and respirators depending on the patients ILI risk. Goretex clothing is a suitable barrier, and eye protection is mandatory.

Bell Let’s Talk day means a lot at TEAAM. Most of our staff came into our program carrying occupational stress injuries like Post Traumatic Stress and Occupational Stress Injuries. We started our program as a cathartic way to mourn the loss of a friend and have built the program around support and post traumatic growth.... We encourage our TEAAM members to speak about their mental health and support them when they face challenges. And we encourage you to reach out for help if you’re struggling. It’s not weak to speak.

Life is full of surprises, and aircrew medic/rescue specialist Tyler Clements sure surprised Jenna when he took her for a sightseeing flight after some long line (Class D) Recert training... There in the pocket of his jacket, was a ring.... And Jenna said.... YES... Congratulations Jenna and Tyler!!!! We’re so happy for you both and love you both very much!
