Today, childcare history was made in Alberta. Effective February 1, 2021, the Alberta government can investigate complaints about unlicensed child care provide...rs when there is reason to believe that: a person is providing care for more than 6 children (not including their own), or an imminent threat exists to the health, safety or welfare of any children to whom the person is offering or providing care. If either of these are confirmed, Children’s Services will issue and enforce a stop order. In this situation, parents of the children in the unlicensed program will be notified of the stop order. Thank you to Minister Schulz and the Alberta Government for hearing our concerns about the lack of oversight in unlicensed care and for taking steps to ensure that actions can be taken when our children are in danger in unlicensed care, as well as ensuring that unlicensed providers can be shut down when children are at risk. Neither of these things were possible prior to this legislation being passed. If you are concerned about the health, safety or well-being of your child or another child in an unlicensed child care program, you can now call Child Care Connect toll free at 1-844-644-5165 to report your concerns. You can't avoid the emotional work of parenting. Whether you stuff your upset and try to be patient, or let your family see and hearit all, you are engaged in ...emotional work. You can try to keep on an even keel, but we humans don't function that well when we stuff down lots of feelings. We start itching for an excuse to show someone how we really feel, and eventually, we lose it. We all do. Imagine a world where that's ok.

If you need a time out... Go for it wash your face, pee alone, breathe, crank your favourite tune and truly focus on the sounds of each instrument in your song. Time in with your little once your minds in the right space in a beautiful, healing and Rewarding. It is not easy being a parent. It's big work 24 -7... Loving on your efforts!!
