I really wanted to be able to have my own classroom and be talking about Indigenous issues, being able to teach First Nations studies, being able to teach social justice
Incredibly proud of Teach For Canada teacher Robert Hosking who came of retirement to teach grade 6 and coach hockey in Pikangikum First Nation! I got the bug. I missed the kids. I missed teaching, Hosking said of his decision to go back to school at age 62.
This year, community was more important than ever, and we want to thank you for being a part of the Teach For Canada community. Despite the impacts of COVID-19,... we worked closely with First Nations partners to safely recruit and prepare a record number of teachers, making sure that students have teachers when they need them most. As we look forward to 2021, we hope you will continue to support our work in the North. Wishing you all a happy and healthy holiday season!
As the year draws to a close, we are deeply grateful for the support our donors have shown us throughout 2020. It’s not too late to support our work - click below to see how you can sponsor learning sessions, send a care package to a northern school, and more! https://teachforcanada.ca/en/get-involved/donate/
