COVID SPECIAL!!
The expression/verse, ‘Ask and ye shall receive’, came true for me a few hours ago earlier this evening. After viewing some vintage footage of HANSHI PATRICK Mc...CARTHY doing a form I was originally taught a couple of decades ago, I was curious and acted on the inspiration. I immediately reached out to my GOJU-RYU Teacher in my hometown Kingston Ontario, HANSHI KEN TALLACK and asked if he ever filmed the famous WOLVERINE KATA, like he did with the MEIBUKAN GOJU-RYU KATA System. Good idea. I’ll go do that right now, he responded. Thinking that he was pulling one on me, he then followed up with, Seriously, I’m on my way to the DOJO now. Less than 90 minutes later, I was sent the following clip....and I was immediately struck with how his technical ability, fluidity and intensity had not appeared to change since he first shared it with me in the year 2000. If anything, I’d say it’s even nurtured stronger. For historical perspective, The WOLVERINE is a Canadian KATA created by ‘The Father of Canadian GOJU’, SENSEI, ROBERT ‘BOB’ MARSHALL DALGLEISH (1941-1978). For those with keen eyes will note that within it, SENSEI DALGLEISH incorporated aspects of the following Martial Art Systems : GOJU-RYU KARATE SHOTOKAN KARATE CHITO-RYU KARATE WING CHUN KUNG-FU, and SHAOLIN KUNG-FU THANK YOU HANSHI TALLACK! THANK YOU HANSHI McCARTHY! THANK YOU DALGLIESH-SENSEI! The Legacy of Canadian Martial Arts is assured because of the contributions from Legends like you! OSU!!!
While certain parts of the Province are experiencing another Lock-Down, we are fortunate to be able to continue doing what we love and what we are thankful for.... Another full Class (of the maximum permitted allowance)....in this case, JUNIOR YELLOW BELTS. Properly distanced....masked....gloved....screened and disinfected. It’s not that hard to adapt to necessary change. OSU!!
Any one have any information about this property on Ritson St North? It's a karate place now but has an outdoor pool and looks like it may have been a public recreation place?
7:00am YUDANSHA Class....Thank you Mr. BENNETT. OSU!!! <<

This is disturbing to watch....but extremely necessary to share and get the word out more. Please assist and SHARE. Thank you.
Today was another one of those Special Days.... Received a very random, unexpected phone call moments ago from a former Student, who had to leave the DOJO 9 Yea...rs ago (9 years and 2 days, TO THE DAY, in fact!....that’s some interesting synergy working there!) Now, as a young Adult, living successfully and joyfully in the Southern Interior East Region of B.C., having a moment of reflection, he was inspired to make a long distance phone-call during his Break-Time at Work, to his old DOJO just to say hello....and ‘Thank You’. Sometimes the lessons that are taught and planted daily in the DOJO, may not immediately rise to the surface. Nurtured properly with the right heart and the Life Lessons assuredly, will eventually come to fruition. We NEVER tire of hearing from our Students, regardless of time, distance or circumstance. These relationships are priceless. You are very welcome young Man. Wishing you the continued success and happiness that you deserve. Until the next time we cross paths again, Thank YOU for filling my heart. OSU!!
