Being a LS Independent Associate, we have a LS membership. As a member, we used our membership for things like: 1. Education (a constitutional right) - The principal at our son's jr. high school wasn't helpful in getting the necessary paperwork submitted into the CBE GATE program (which is time sensitive). We used our LS membership to help us draft an email so the paperwork would get submitted on time. 2. Document review. - Over the years we have sent a few contracts to the... law firm to ensure the contract was protecting our rights as well. This includes landlord/tenant contracts, employment contracts, insurance contracts, partnership contracts (to name a few). 3. Warranty help. We paid $100-$150 for the extra warranty but the mattress company wasn't setting up the technician call to get the mechanism fixed on our mechanical bed. One phone call 3 1/2 weeks later from LS, and we had 3 managers on the phone to fix our issue. Let's face it - As consumers, do we ever think to call a lawyer to read an employment or landlord contract? To help us with a warranty coverage that the retailer is refusing to cover? No. We don't.
