Thank you Jennifer Moore who was the successful bidder of the broom who in-turn donated it to a Special Olympics curler @curlthemac. A win win all around.

Thank you to the incredible Ice Staff at the Men's and Scotties Provincial who once again, smiling the entire time, gave the players fantastic ice to compete on!

I had the honour of competing in the Northern Ontario Men’s Curling Championship this last week in New Liskeard. The last N-ONT tankard I played in was 15 years... ago, oddly enough, just down the road in Haileybury. Although My team mates and I (Charlie Robert, Matthew Brady and Josh Vanderburg) only managed to reel off one win, we had an incredible week. The skill level of the competing teams was second to none. The highlight was the privilege of playing Brad Jacobs and team who are ranked number one in the world right now and taking them to nine ends. They certainly showed that by running the table during the round robin with a perfect 7-0 record. To Steve Amyot and your army of volunteers, if there were an Academy Award for hosting this event, you would win it hands down. It was truly outstanding. We felt like we were playing at the Brier and Scottie’s. The ice was the best playing surface I have ever played on. Hats off to Tom Leonard, Brent Adamson, the gentleman known as bubbles along with their team for their incredible work. The crowds were amazing with the arena packed to the rafters every draw. As the oldest curler on the ice this week I am not sure how many of these I will get back to so I will carry this incredible experience with me for many years. To the teams still competing, good luck and good Curling. Northern Ontario will be well represented as always.

We completed our last game at these 2020 Northern Ontario Provincial Curling Championships. Although we didn’t play to our potential this week we sure did have a great time and a lot of laughs. A huge shout out to the organizing committee for being gracious hosts and putting on an event that set the bar high. The ice technicians for giving us an unbelievable playing surface. The fans for cheering and supporting this event and to our sponsors. Most importantly we would like to give a heartfelt thank you to our family and friends for the words of encouragement and to Kimmy Ethier Meunier the unofficial manager for making calls behind the scenes and supplying all the great snacks. Now we can have a beverage and enjoy some great curling!
