Why YOU need a Personal Trainer. Whether you’re new to the gym or not, you could benefit from working one-on-one with a personal trainer. We see these common mistakes in gym-goers of every level! 1. Quality over Quantity! ... Working out with a trainer for just a few hours a week can make all the difference. So many people spend hours in the gym every day, every week, and every year yet, they can’t seem to achieve the results they are looking for. Working with a trainer will help you make the most of every single workout. Sometimes, all you need is that push! 2. How heavy is too heavy? When you lift a weight that is too heavy for you, you may be sacrificing your form. By doing so, you aren’t targeting the correct muscles not to mention you could end up injuring yourself in the process! If you want to lift heavy, a personal trainer can help you do so in a safe and effective manner. 3. Form! If you aren’t using proper form when performing exercises at the gym, you won’t be achieving optimal results. The difference between doing an exercise correctly, and incorrectly, is sometimes very small. Booking a few sessions with a trainer to evaluate your form is a good place to start whether you’re new to weight-training or not. 4. Copycat! Are you following a generic training program or a program designed for a friend or family member? Everyone’s body is different and just because someone has achieved results from a specific program, doesn’t mean that program will give you the same results. A personal trainer will assess your goals and your body to design a training program that will work the best for you. Don’t waste your time. You DO NOT need to "diet" in order to achieve your health and fitness goals. The word "diet" implies a short-term change. But, learning to live a healthy lifestyle is something you can take with you long-term. Have you ever heard the saying: Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day but teach a man to fish and he’ll eat for a lifetime? Well, this is the kind of approach we use here at Team Royalty Training. Our goal is to give our clients the tools and knowledge they need... to make their own health-related decisions long-term. Here’s just a few simple tips: 1. Drink Water! Especially before a meal. Studies have shown that drinking 500mL of water before a meal can help you eat fewer calories. 2. Eat a Protein-Filled Breakfast! Replacing a carbohydrate-based breakfast with a high-protein breakfast has been shown to keep you full and satisfied longer. 3. Eat Less Refined Carbs! Refined carbohydrates have been stripped of they nutritious, fibrous parts. This includes foods such as white bread and pasta. Opt for whole grain carbs that still contain their natural fibre. 4. Portion Control! Remember even healthy foods can be high in calories, and can interfere with weight loss if eaten in excess. 5. Lift Weights! Adding resistance training (such as weight lifting) to your exercise routine can help keep your metabolism high. Don’t diet learn to EAT SMART & TRAIN SMART. Contact us and let's work together to create a plan that works for you. #EatSmartTrainSmart
