This pic was taken during an Inspection. A few common mistakes often made is the installation of the laundry duct. First off the plastic duct is a fire hazard. The product manufacturer states on the packaging "not to be used for a dryer exhaust". 2nd duct tape as shown in the pic does not mean it's used for ductwork. The correct type will be the aluminum foil type. 3rd the duct coming out of the wall should be insulated, as not to produce condensate which will damage that fine looking pine interior wall board. 4th. No screws are allowed in any section of the duct which may catch lint and possibly cause a fire. Please choose the correct duct for this application.

To save money on heating and cooling, make sure the weather stripping around doors and the gasket on the attic hatch are in good condition. If you can see light through the door, then its time to replace the weather stripping.
