The Saudi. Ampana Beach, Sulawesi, Indonesia 2016. Ibu, Ubud Market, Indonesia, 2016. Ibu means ‘mother’ in Bahasa, the language of Indonesia, she was selling hand carved wooden monkey decorations and I felt bad as I couldn’t afford to buy any from her at a time, the other market traders were very protective of her, and with a smile like that I’m sure any else would be too! She seemed flattered when I asked to take her portrait, and if I’m ever in Ubud again, the first thing I’ll do is see if she is still there and buy some w...ooden monkeys from her!
