Hey families! What Child is this? See below for contest details! (DM us the name of the child and the photo location to win a prize!)Bonus entries for sharing the post! While you’re here, have you ever wondered about those three kings that we sing about every Christmas? They are often shown among the nativity scenes, carrying precious gifts fit only for a king, but gifts were not their main reason for coming. In the Gospel of Matthew 2:2 we read their reason for coming, an...d it is not merely to pay homage to a king, but rather to worship the Lord! They saw the signs and knew that the promises of God were being fulfilled so they came to worship. And the truth is, this is the only right response when we understand what it was that God was doing on that first Christmas. God Himself had come into this world to save His people. He sent messengers to tell of His coming and now, God Himself had arrived to fix the relationship with His people. Want more information about what it means to worship Jesus as king? Send us an email at [email protected] or dm us here and we will get back to you. Contest: What child is THIS? Give us the child's name and the correct location of the photo for your chance to win! Enter your guess in the comments below and correct responses will be entered into a draw for this week’s prize. Sharing this post gets you another entry into the draw. Winners will be announced and contacted by the end of day December 1 and prizes can be picked up at our Christmas Isn’t Cancelled Drive Thru on either Friday Dec. 11 or Saturday Dec. 12. This contest closes November 30. DM us your answer. This weeks prize is a family movie prize pack. :)

These verses refer to Zion, the place where the Temple would be built, and where Jesus Himself would come. God was reaffirming His covenant with His people, that one day the King of kings would come to earth and take His place in Zion. David was looking forward to that day. We can now look at scripture and see how God kept His promise to David by sending Jesus as the sacrificial lamb. And we can look forward to when He will come again as the Lion of Judah, the King of kings!... Just think, one day we will be able to stand in the new Jerusalem and worship Him! God keeps His promises! Are you looking forward to that day? Prayer For Today: O God, my God, how I long for the day when You will come again. I'm listening for the trumpet call! You do keep Your promises. You did for David, and You do for me. Thank You, Lord! Until that day, may I shine for You each day. Help me to point others to You today. Give me courage to speak up for You! Help me not to be ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Help me to be clothed in Your righteousness today, and to live by faith! (Romans 1:16-17) Amen.

Psalm 132 starts with the psalmist reminding the LORD about all David went through in trying to serve Him. David worked hard to prepare a place for the LORD (vs.5). This is kind of what we are trying to do at Temple. We are working hard to prepare our building to be used as a place where the Lord will be lifted up as a lighthouse to our community. In verse 7 it says: Let us go to His dwelling place; let us worship at His footstool! We understand that God does not live... in our building, but in our hearts when we are believers in Him. But we can join together and worship at His footstool! Today, let us worship Him! Prayer For Today: Father, today we fall on our knees before You in humble worship. Just as You remember David, You remember us! You are all-knowing, all-present, almighty God. In reverence we bow before You. You are a holy and just God, showing mercy and grace and love to all who call on You. We worship You today! May we exalt Your name together! What comfort Your presence brings. I sought the LORD, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. (Psalm 34:4-5) May we shine for You today as we bask in Your glory! Amen.

So what is your blank this Tuesday?

Another repeated phrase: like a weaned child. What does that mean? What does a child feel when his mother weans it from mother's milk to real people food? The child does not realize that the mother is doing this for his own good...to help him mature and grow stronger. It is not a neglectful action on the mother's part, but a loving, caring action to help the child on his way to adulthood. Like the child being weaned, we may fret at our present circumstances, but we k...now that our fretting is wrong. Our present circumstances are the womb out of which new blessings and opportunities will be born. (Romans 8:28) [quote by Warren Wiersbe] Prayer For Today: Lord, I am coming to You today as a child who needs to calm and quiet my soul. I need Your help to recognize that whatever comes my way today, is coming because You are allowing it to happen. You are there with me, and will be ready to help me. Thank You, Father, for being a good, good Father. Thank You for the assurance that I am loved by You, just as a child who is weaned needs the assurance of his mother's love. I look forward to what You will bring into my life today! Amen.
