Yuri, the sire to our current litter of Standard Poodles. We have seen so many of his amazing attributes passed on to the next generation already-- people-loving, gorgeous coats, lovely pigment, the list goes on. We just love him. Thank you to Sara Craig for making him so pretty www.templecitypoodles.ca

The puppies' first bed went over well ;) Did you know ~ Introducing a sleeping area from a young age is actually a crucial part of housetraining. They are now beginning to crawl and toddle, so when they first wake up, their initial instinct is to move AWAY from their sleeping area to find a place to potty. Dogs are clean animals by nature, and instinctually want to keep their living space clean. Providing a designated spot to sleep activates their instinct to find a different... place to potty, which builds the foundation for a well housetrained dog. Giving them a headstart on training, through proven and science-based protocols, makes life so much easier for their new owners :) #puppyculture #housetraining #standardpoodles www.templecitypoodles.ca
This is excellent information. Especially applicable to larger breed puppies who take much longer to develop. This is also why we recommend waiting until after full maturity before spaying/neutering, as it allows their growth plates to close properly and prevent excessive looseness in the joint or erratic growth.
The "Emperor's New Groove" litter is doing fantastic, and they are now 12 days old. Eyes are opening and ENS/ESI are almost complete. Pictured is red-collar girl, Chicha. So what are ENS and ESI, and why do we do them? ENS, or early neurological stimulation, is believed to increase the puppy's tolerance for physical and emotional stress by introducing stimulators (held right-side up, on their backs, laying on a cold surface) in small, healthy amounts.... ESI, or early scent introduction, is used to develop the part of the dog's brain that recognizes/detects scent. By introducing a large variety of smells from a young age, it is believed to increase their aptitude for scent work, tracking, SAR, etc. As their ears begin to open, we will start introducing sounds (construction noises, fireworks, vacuums, etc.) to work on startle recovery-- AKA, one of the foundation exercises of Puppy Culture ;) www.templecitypoodles.ca
Please message the Canadian Poodle Directory for info if you are interested in one of these older girls. In addition, our 2 fosters' homes have fallen through and they are still available... Lots of options for those wanting an older Toy Poodle right now :)
Well. I guess he's comfortable! Another goodnight from Pacha ;)
