Puppy craziness is over, now its time to find these lovely kitties a home!! We have four adorable 6 month old kittens and their mom looking for loving homes. Unfortunately the babies came to us as feral, so are really, really unsure of new people. They decided shelter staff are ok, but when meeting new people they run and hide. Shelter staff are able to handle them a bit and they come to us for pets, so we believe they will adjust well to the right home. Names and genders are posted in the photos and any other inquiries we will do our best to answer. Please, please help us find the less desirable a happy home too:)

Another good story to share!! Anybody remember "Tex"? Hes been with us since June, and we are soooooooooooooo elated that he has been in a foster to adopt home for a week, and is thriving!! Every update we receive is positive, so our fingers are crossed he has found his people!! This news is the best yet, as he was a tough case, with lots of issues. The shelter was just bringing the worst out in him, and crushing his true potential! HUGE thank you to his foster family for giving "Tex" a shot!!!

A huge thank-you to the very kind lady (I believe her name was Nicole) for spoiling our shelter kids this morning! We & the animals very much appreciate it!

Update on our litter of pups. We have been very fortunate to have found loving homes for several of the 11 pups in our care as shelter staff have falling in love!! Those that have booked a viewing will get to visit with all, as who doesn't like puppy cuddles!! Pups still looking for homes will be identified for potential adoptees. We are overwhelmed with the interest in these puppies. We understand people have "picked" a favorite, but would like to remind everyone that all of these babies are hoping to find a loving home. It is our goal and mandate to find loving homes for those abandoned, forgotten, or just overwhelmed. It is our "job", but sometimes it is really hard! We love that you all are here for us and want to give these kids a loving home. Thank you :)

First off, thank you to everyone who came forward to give these adorable babies a loving home! Thought our picture should start from their beginning. We are excited to announce that all 11 "Strong" puppies have recently found their forever families :) Please do not be discouraged if you were not "chosen" as we had over 40 applications for these babies, and unfortunately cannot choose everyone. Good news is they are all thriving beyond our expectations, and we wish them nothing but happiness :) Always tough to let them go, but know they are in good hands :) Happy trails puppies :) We will miss your presence, but maybe not all your poop!!

Attention people of Terrace!! We are having a pumpkin draw this year! You have a chance to win this giant pumpkin that weighs a whopping 85 lbs!! It was locally grown and so graciously donated to the shelter by a kind gentleman! We have a deck of cards so pick your favorite number/symbol i.e. hearts spades,clubs,diamonds. Draw cards are minimum $5.00 donation and can be purchased at the Terrace Animal Shelter from 12:30-4:45 Monday to Saturday. The winner will be announced October 22nd! 100% of the proceeds made will be donated to the Injured Animal Fund which helps pay for all the shelter animals medical needs. Please help us, help them:)

Tried to catch them in play mode but it ended up being sleepy mode :) They change on a dime! One minute up and playing, next conked out!! Sorry for the potty bits! Life with 11 puppies!!

Can you say adorable!! We sure can!!!

Not a super exciting post, but do you think little white girl is comfy? This is how they spend their days. Lounging, dining, sleeping:) We saw some eyes opening today and some are up on all fours walking already!! We are excited to see them grow and share their journey:) And no worries if these babies are getting enough snuggles, as they have at least seven foster mommies giving them warm hugs all day:)

Late night feel good post. The animal shelter deals with alot of grief with our cremation services. We feel the lose of every single one that comes through our doors as our own. Found a poem to hopefully help ease the pain of anyone who has lost a beloved pet. "They will not go quietly. The pets who've shared our lives. In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives. Old habits still can make us think we hear them at the door. Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor. Our feet still go around the place the food dish use to be. And, sometimes, coming home at night we miss them terribly. And although time may bring new friends and a new food dish to fill, that one place in our hearts belongs to them........and always will.
