All done with our 15th and 16th week of our weekly fresh food pick up for our loyal customers. Still very proud to be growing and showcasing so many wonderful foods grown by us at R Farm and by our many other local producers. Terrace rocks !!! Thanks to all ...both growers and consumers !!

We finished another CSA food pick up week at the farm last Wednesday. Just out in the garden to see what we will have this week. Looks like we will have Corn, Zucchini, Potatoes, Beans, Dill weed, Cucumbers, Transparent Apples, Blueberries ( from FairHaven Farm) and Blackberries and Garlic (from Scapegoat Farms.) We're so thankful for a few showers this weekend !!

Season starts slow and builds through the next few weeks. We will have different foods each week based on what is in season. Hi all Wednesday May 30 will be our first pick up day. The root cellar doors will be wide open from 10 am to 7 pm for you to come and get your produce. Come at whatever time suits you best. If you are already signed up.... There will be a white board with your name on it for you to check off. ( the 1st 3 letters of your last name and 1st letter of your 1st name)... and there will be sheets of paper on the wall which will direct you. The fields are planted and food in our region is growing, here and in other gardens. Please remember that it is our objective to enjoy foods that grow here. Our focus is healthy food. No herbicides or pesticides. Think global by eating local. Each week will reflect what is in season that week. As we begin the selection is small but as we continue it will be become more and more fullsome. This weeks pick up will include: Potatoes Jerusalem Artichokes Dahlia's Rhubarb ( from Gordon Watmough) Arugula (from Dena Ferretti) to find us : follow Keith ave from Walmart east, all the way down (past the old mill) till you come to Brauns Street. Go left on Brauns and follow that all the way down - you will cross a bridge - u r now on Brauns Is. the road turns right to Ackroyd and then left to Archer( u will see a large field on the right - R Farm) The farm is the only place on the right there is yellow house and a yellow block building which is the rootceller the place where you will collect your weekly produce. there is a sign that says Community Supported Agriculture on the roadside. if you are dropping off a check you can put it in the mailbox at the house. thanks We hope to see you on Wednesday If you know someone else who wants to join in we are still taking customers. thanks again Diana and Henry See more

Hi Folks Welcome to CSA ( Community Supported Agriculture) Today we saw our first bees busy working in the greenhouse pollinating our peach tree. so that... coupled with a field free of snow and full of Canadian geese means that we are officially experiencing spring. I have been busy tapping our birch trees and now have 10 batches of birch sap fermenting for our Birch Sap coolers. This year we are adding different berries to each batch and we hope to give you each a taste o...f these in your boxes this summer. Additionally we have been picking cottonwood buds in the hopes that we can share some medicinal tinctures this year as well. As usual, we hope to have an assortment of whatever local food is ready in our region for your weekly pick up at R Farm. We are now taking customers for the 2018 season. Cost is $600.00 for the season and we hope to be providing you with 20 weeks of fresh local fruits and veggies grown on our fields or on the fields of other farmers in our area. We are proud to be able to grow for your families without the use of pesticides or herbicides just real food from our field to your table. Payment can be made in full or as you can afford to do so. E-transfer is preferred to [email protected] but checks or cash are fine too. As usual Pick ups will occur on Wednesday anytime from 10 am to 7pm ..at R farm. 2213 Archer Rd. on Brauns Island or on Thursday for those of you who cant make the midweek pickup. We expect to start at the end of May or early June and go through to October. yesterday Oct 18 was our last CSA pick up day So Penners of R Farm- Terrace CSA would now like to invite any of those who may still like to have a sample of our weekly pick up to go ahead and come on down. I will have the rootceller open tomorrow Thursday Oct 19 at 2213 Archer road...(the yellow block building on the right) if you would like to come down and help yourself to whatever you like from our last pick up of CSA product.. a full pick up is worth $30.00 and a bucket will be there in which to make payment. 9 am to 7 pm. Items include potatoes, apples, kale, edamame, apple chips, edible flowers, cabbage, gourds, squash, fennel, pumpkin, radish seed pods, thanks again Diana

The harvest on the fields continues to be bountiful and we are pleased and honoured to be serving so many families with fresh healthy locally grown foods. As we fall into the last half of our season we are offering others to join us for a weekly pick up of fresh produce. For the remainder of the season we will charge $300.00 to any families who would like to try locally grown foods. We are proud to buy from other farmers as well to offer the most rounded samples of what is available locally. Think global... Buy local !!
