Posted @withregram @jonczaklandscape This comment & pic makes us so happy The most perfect and even trays of pea shoots that I've ever grown. The difference? I'm trying, for the first time, @terrafibre hemp grow mats, what a difference. Thank you for your support!

Ohh boy, we've been busy lately! We've created a new hemp insulating material for fresh/frozen food delivery . We've been working with Banana Peel, an eco-friendly packaging company that specializes in insulated boxes. Their slogan is: "Packaging world deliveries with the footprint of a fruit peel." Fresh/frozen food is placed inside with dry ice for delivery keeping the product fresh for 24-48 hours. Banana Peel is providing some of the packaging for Evive - a fast-growin...g smoothie company. And .... if that wasn't cool enough, our hemp insulating material can be re-used into a microgreen grow mat when you receive your delivery! #hemp #fibres #allnatural #hempfibre #hemphelps #microgreens #healthy #compostable #biodegradable #knowyourfood #nutrition #gardening #healthylifestyle #healthyfood #growmat #growcubes #bananapeel #freshfooddelivery #perishablefoodshipping #freshfoodshipping #frozenfoodshipping #boxliner #packageliner #insulatedboxliner #thermalpackaging

Using the fibrous byproduct of the industrial hemp plant, we have created Terrafibre Grow Mats. Terrafibre Grow Mats are ideal for microgreens, sprouts, wheatgrass and other short rotation crops. The hemp fibres are separated, cleaned and needle punched to produce a 100% biodegradable soilless growing medium. Fibres are separated through a decortication process without the use of any chemicals, and our needle punching technique creates a light texture for roots to easil...y grow through. Hemp fibres have high water retention, keeping seeds wet through germination. All of the hemp used is grown, processed, and manufactured in Canada. https://terrafibre.ca/

Who wants to wait to enjoy!?! We agree @felixwongphoto Look at those beautiful pea shoots! I think i’m supposed to let them grow for another few days, but I usually start eating them around this time. Sometimes directly off the tray! I have tried a few growing medium (potting mix, coco coir, other mats), but terrafibre is probably my favorite!

Although black landscape fabric is the general go-to, landscape fabric may contain petroleum & chemicals and is not biodegradable. Terrafibre weed suppressant product is a non-woven hemp matting that is 100% biodegradable. The matting is used in establishing trees and shrubs, and suppressing invasive weeds in a variety of landscape situations. This thick 1000 grams per square metre matting, allows zero light penetration, which effectively prevents soil erosion, suppresses w...eeds, preserves soil moisture and insulates plants from temperature highs/lows ensuring establishment. It then fully biodegrades back into the soil, releasing important nutrients for providing a boost in plant growth. Contact us for custom sizing for either squares or full rolls! Posted @withregram Our friends @themartiancolony shared a very cool experiment -> Day 12: Cover Crops for Mars Pea (Pisum sativum) and oat (Avena sativa) sprouts are being grown from seed in two different mediums; @terrafibre and Mars regolith simulant. Only distilled water is used to ensure the seedlings rely on their stored energy and photosynthesis without the aid of external nutrients. Notes: The terrafibre seems to allow even germination, while the Martian Regolith may provide some necessary nutrients during early growth. Some of the shoots in the Martian medium seem to have accelerated growth, but an overall poor germination rate.

Green Smoothie Our friends at #mindfulmicros remind us "when you can’t eat your daily recommended dose of vegetables, use your microgreens and drink it! Microgreens are so nutrient dense, they pack a ton of antioxidants and vitamins no matter how you consume them
