Today seems like a good day for coffee and a treat Our sourdough brioche is the perfect pair to your mid morning cup. Soft brioche dough, filled with a spiced apple butter and lightly drizzled in a vanilla cream cheese glaze Like all our breads, the brioche is made with organic freshly milled flour and sourdough culture and allowed to rest overnight. 970g of sourdough joy Our farmhouse sourdough bread is made over a 24 hour period. A blend of organic freshly milled grains (wheat and rye) get mixed, folded and shaped during the day. We only add water, sea salt and our sourdough culture during the process. The dough then enjoys a long overnight rest in the fridge to improve flavour and digestibility. We bake our breads off every morning between 5am and 8am so that you can enjoy them at their freshest! Our goal has always been to connect people with real food We feel so lucky to be able to source most of our ingredients just 5km from the restaurant at @terrafirmafarms. Right now Terra is busy planning the 2021 planting season and our chefs have the chance to work with her on her seed orders. To have a direct influence on what a farmer chooses to grow is the Farm to Table dream We opened our doors in November, so we knew exactly what kind of winter storage crops we woul...d have for our menus. But thoughts of abundant summer harvests have us dreaming up so many creations - we really can’t wait to see what this summer brings! The field salad Always seasonal. Always delicious. We base all of our menu items off of @terrafirmafarms winter storage crops. Then we add a house made dressing or vinaigrette, sometimes a little local cheese or Canadian grown grains. We garnish it with finishing touches like toasted nuts, seeds or spices. What’s in a name? We had a tough time trying to decide on a name for our space. We played around with a few ideas, including "Honest Food Café" and "The Farmhouse." Since opening we’ve thought that "Farm French Fusion" and "Brown Butter Bakery" would be good ways to describe our style But we’re happy with Terra Firma’s Kitchen, because, in essence it’s exactly what we are. The seasonal harvests from the farm form our menu, instead of the other way around. We work with what’s in season and what can be produced locally. We are the farm’s kitchen and we’re so pleased to have you at our table. We’re proud of our name and hope you are too! We believe in slow food. We take the time to braise, ferment, and simmer our ingredients. We slow cook meat until tender, extend the proof our bread to develop flavour and nutrition, and simmer beans until soft and creamy. We believe in the quality of our ingredients and treating them with care. We do all of this, so that you don’t have to. We’re committed to having your online orders ready within 15 minutes of checkout. We’re open everyday from 6am-5pm for slow fast food - take out or dine in. Our sourdough pancakes are served exactly how they should be: with lots of butter and maple syrup We use freshly milled flour (a blend of wheat, buckwheat and emmer), add local dairy, eggs, sourdough starter and a touch of organic cane sugar.
