From Fred Fox: My brother Terry was grateful - for his life, his family, and for Canadians who supported cancer research. After his first diagnosis and treatment, he wrote a letter to a friend, explaining that he now understood that "the answer is to try and help others." If you always wished you could help even more, now you can. Donations made before December 31 will be matched, dollar for dollar, thanks to a group of generous supporters.... Your gift will have twice the impact on people facing cancer. People like Cai, from Kamloops, BC: Cai was first diagnosed with cancer when he was eleven months old. He has faced more than most people could imagine in his six years. Cai’s bravery is remarkable: "I have chemotherapy twice a day, every day. It's hard, but these are brand new medicines from cancer research, and they're stopping my tumours from growing!" Thank you for helping people like Cai. Happy Holidays, Fred Fox

The fall of 1976 and after graduating in June Terry is now attending Simon Fraser University. Terry was not offered a basketball scholarship or even extended an... invite to try and make the Junior Varsity team - he was a walk on hopeful and in true Terry Fox fashion he gritted and grinded his way onto the team! You will find Terry's image in the bottom left hand corner Terry Fox - 5' 10" - Port Coquitlam. Coach Stan Stewardson and Coach Alex Devlin were critical mentors for Terry during and post his SFU years. Everyone has a pre-disposed genetic makeup, but with Terry, it was a case of where the mind was so strong and he worked so hard that I think he actually became physically better, says Devlin, the former Canadian national team member and longtime high school coach, who back in that 1976-77 season was the head coach of the SFU junior varsity team. By the end of that year, he was our sixth man, and if he had come back healthy the next season, I think he would have started with us, and then had a chance to make the senior varsity team. That is something you’d never have thought would happen. But he was a kid with no boundaries. He never put limits on himself. #terryfoxrun2020 #terryfoxrun #terryfox #marathonofhope #marathon #terryfoxcentre

Terry would have run across Canada twice if it meant finding a cure for all cancers. His heart was as bug as his try. This holiday season a few generous donors are helping your donation go twice as far by matching it. #TryLikeTerry. Double your gift today: http://Terry fox.ca/holidaygiving
