Congratulations President Joe Biden on your #inaguration2021 I look forward to working with you and Vice President Kamala Harris for the the betterment of the people we represent. As a border town #saultstemarie understands deeply our important relationship. As a lifelong champion of & former worker in #northernontario tourism, I couldn’t be prouder to engage with many fellow campers, RVers as well as the great campground owners from coast to coast to coast this morning. Thanks Canadian Camping and RV Council Destination Canada Mélanie Joly for hosting and for your continued support of domestic #tourism in the ongoing fight against #covid Happy & safe camping, folks!

Canada has successfully concluded negotiations on the new Canada-UK Trade Continuity Agreement! - an interim deal that will be in place as Canada and the United Kingdom work towards negotiating a comprehensive free trade agreement. Earlier today, we continued discussion regarding this agreement during the International Trade committee meeting. Thank you to Mary Ng, Rachel Bendayan and staff members for all your hard work.

I was pleased to announce $3.9 million in support for 27 small and medium sized businesses in North-Central Ontario and the Timmins-James Bay region. The funding is being administered by FedNor through the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund. Joseph Bisceglia, Chair of Tourism Sault Ste Marie, says the funding will help position tourism, which he calls a cornerstone of the economy, for a quick recovery.... This funding will help ensure we can continue to promote our community, maintain local jobs, generate new revenues and bridge a financial gap caused by the pandemic, says Bisceglia. https://saultonline.com//sheehan-announces-funding-to-ass/ Mélanie Joly The City of Sault Ste. I was deeply honoured to lay a wreath at the #saultstemarie Cenotaph today to pay tribute to our fantastic veterans. Today I also want to send a very special thank you to the Canadian Military that was sent into action to protect our seniors in long term care homes in #ontario & #quebec during #covid_19 To all of you.. Merci, Megwetch & forever grateful...... They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. #CanadaRemembers
