I’m proud to share my first sewing lesson video - "Building a Basic Sewing Kit". A printable list of the supplies from the lesson is available at: https://tessablesstitchery.com/resources/ The first lesson is a long one but covers everything needed for a great basic practical sewing kit. Future lessons will be much shorter! Please comment below with any feedback or requests you have for future lessons. Thank you for watching! #sewinglesson... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrRP6J0eOb0

So touched to have made a difference and been able to donate to the amazing team at the Civic Hospital. This heartfelt card just made my month. Much thanks go to my hardworking kids - Tristan and Ben - for all their volunteering efforts making all the donated scrub caps, button headbands and masks. Thank you everyone for voting in my sewing lesson poll last week - the first topic has been chosen and I'm going to be recording the video this week! #strongertogether #sewinglessons

Something new I'm so excited about - I want to offer a free series of short sewing lesson videos and I'd love your help in selecting which topic I’ll cover on the first tutorial. Please share with your friends and family! More upcoming planned topics include: How to use a sewing machine, ironing tips, and creating a small project (such as a drawstring bag) from start to finish. I'd love to hear all of your requests - please leave me a comment if you have any ideas you'd like to see. Thank you all for your feedback! #SewingLessons

Today's shout out goes to my son Benjamin. Ben has been helping to sew all those buttons onto all those button headbands and scrub caps for our frontline healthcare workers. Ben is 14 and a preprofessional classical ballet dancer, and all those handsewing skills sewing up his pointe shoes have come in handy with the non profit mask initiative! Thank you Ben! I am a proud mom indeed. Donations update - as of today, I have been able to donate 240 fabric masks, 56 button headban...ds, and 52 scrub caps to our frontline healthcare workers, LTC/retirement homes, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations. THANK YOU to everyone's generous support for my non profit mask initiative to make these donations possible! And thank you to everyone who shared with friends and family. Please message me with any questions, and if you are a frontline healthcare worker or organization please send me a message so I can donate fabric masks, button headbands, scrub caps and free scrubs alterations to you. I can also be reached at [email protected]. #StrongerTogether #PlanktheCurve

A pandemic through the eyes of this seamstress. From making scrub caps, headbands and masks to hemming a prom dress for a virtual prom. I'm so honoured to be a small part of the lives of these tireless frontline healthcare workers and this lovely young lady. Thank you for sharing your pictures with us! And thank you all for supporting my initiative and making these frontline donations possible. Child masks are now available to order - and I'm notifying child mask backorders... now. I'm also excited to thank another wonderful local business Boutique Sofía for making ear savers available and also donating proceeds to the nonprofit mask initiative! Please message me with any questions, and if you are a frontline healthcare worker or organization please message or email me at [email protected] so I can donate to you. #StrongerTogether #PlanktheCurve

Today I want to give a HUGE shout out to my amazing son Tristan, and thank him for all his many hours of voluntary efforts helping in the sewing room with this non profit mask initiative. Tristan is 16, a straight-A student and musician. He is the ironing King and turning out to be a really talented sewer too - he is responsible for almost all the handsewn straps that are on the masks. I have treasured all the time we've spent together lately, and truly valued being able to b...ond over this special project. I am such a proud mom! Good news on the child mask front! Child masks are now being made, and I will be contacting the pre-orders this week and opening up general orders soon. I also have some very exciting news to share soon about partnering up with another local business to offer something truly special with the child masks! Stay tuned! THANK YOU all again for everyone's generous support for this non profit mask initiative. I couldn't have done it without all of you - and donations are continuing everyday to our frontline healthcare workers and organizations. Please message me with any questions, and if you are a frontline healthcare worker or organization please message or email me at [email protected] so I can donate to you. #StrongerTogether #PlanktheCurve

For anyone wondering about how flexible the fitting of my regular size masks are - here's my family's porch picture, and we're all using the same sized mask! Alex in the middle is the size of an 8-10 year old. I've also had good feedback on the regular mask fitting well as young as age 7. Child masks for ages 3-9 will soon be available for order, and I'm working hard on a big CHEO donation for this week! Thank you all again for supporting my initiative. If you are a frontlin...e healthcare worker, LTC/retirement home, or other healthcare organization please send me a message or email me at [email protected] so I can donate masks, button headbands, scrub caps/robes to you for free, and complimentary scrubs alterations services. #StrongerTogether #plankthecurve

Thank you everyone so much for the overwhelming support for my mask initiative. In just this past week, I have been able to donate 50 masks and 10 button headbands to our tireless frontline healthcare workers....with many more donations to come. I am also working hard on a big donation for CHEO. Thank you all for making this possible!! I am also excited to confirm I have finally received my long awaited and delayed fabric shipments so I will have lots more fabrics to choose ...from very soon. I do have plain dark colours available at all times. Finally, due to many requests, I will be working on a prototype for a kid's mask size this week and will be available soon! I need 5 kids of varying ages (age 3-9) to test the prototypes soon, and the prototypes will be discounted in exchange for feedback. Please message me if you're interested in being a tester! Thank you ALL so much again for supporting my mask initiative. And here's a picture of my son Alex in his beloved Angry Birds mask (this is the regular size). Please message me with any questions, and if you are a frontline healthcare worker or organization please send me a message so I can donate to you. I can also be reached at [email protected]. #StrongerTogether #PlanktheCurve

I'm ready to offer my fabric masks (100% quilting quality cotton, removable nose wire pocket, double layer with filter opening, ear elastic or double bias fold fabric ties) to the general community. The nonprofit initiative has limited availability (available by request) - nonprofit order mask fee proceeds will be used to buy more materials to make masks, button headbands, and scrub caps to donate to frontline healthcare workers (essential frontline healthcare, essential mili...tary, LTC workers, PSW, doctors, PA's and nurses, hospitals). Here's what I would like to do: -you can get one FREE complimentary mask for every new like/follow on this business page with any purchase (please let me know when you message! ) -masks are available in child (age 2-8) or regular size for $10 each, and all masks are made to order. I have a wide selection of fabrics (solids and prints) to choose from. -shipping across Canada (Canada Post Expedited tracked parcel) available at cost. -nonprofit order capacity has limited availability and is available by request only. If you are interested in placing a nonprofit order, please ask me about this option. Otherwise for all other regular orders I will donate one mask or scrub cap, or 6 headbands for every 3 masks sold. -fabric donations of quilting cottons, batiks, and thread are welcome towards the donation efforts. Unfortunately other fabrics are not accepted depending on the LTC/healthcare facility. Please message me on this business page to order, and with any questions or concerns!Thank you all.
