Prayer of the People and the Lord’s Prayer (VU 959) Lord Jesus, before whom the Magi laid their gifts, whom humble shepherds worshipped, accept our praises as we celebrate your birth at Bethlehem. We ask that as we make this a holy night upon which to remember your birth on earth, so our hearts would be illuminated with the brightness of your one true light, Jesus Christ our Lord, born in us this day. Prince of Peace, born among us. As we share together the most profound myst...Continue reading

Reflection What a way to be greeted: God is with you! My friends in Jesus Christ, let us glorify and praise God. For the past ten months, we have been trying to navigate our way through this pandemic. We have experienced fear, anger, frustration, disappointment, uncertainty, loss and significant changes; some chosen, and some forced upon us. Despite of the uncertainty we still find creative ways to survive....Continue reading

Luke 2:15-20 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us. 16 So they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the child lying in the manger. 17 When they saw this, they made known what had been told them about this child; 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them. 19 But Mary treasured all these... words and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them. Angels we have heard on high sweetly singing o’er the plains, and the mountains in reply, echoing their joyous strains. Gloria, in excelsis Deo! Gloria, in excelsis Deo! 2. Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong? What the gladsome tidings be which inspire your heavenly song/? Gloria, in excelsis Deo! Gloria, in excelsis Deo! 3. Come to Bethlehem and see Christ whose birth the angels sing; come, adore on bended knee Christ, the Lord, the newborn King. Gloria, in excelsis Deo! Gloria, in excelsis Deo! 4. See him in a manger laid, whom the choirs of angels praise; Mary, Joseph, lend your aid, While our hearts in love we raise. Gloria, in excelsis Deo! Gloria, in excelsis Deo!

Luke 2:8-14 The Shepherds and the Angels 8 In that region there were shepherds living in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid; for seeI am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: 11 to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah,[a] the Lord. 12 This wil...l be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host,[b]praising God and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors![c] Hymn VU 36 Angels, from the Realms of Glory Please click this link to go to YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELjgFKACcdQ 1. Angels, from the realms of glory, wing your flight o’er all the earth; ye who sang creation’s story, now proclaim Messiah’s birth: come and worship, come and worship, worship Christ, the newborn King. 2. Shepherds in the field abiding, watching o’er your flocks by night, God with us is now residing, yonder shines the infant Light: come and worship, come and worship, worship Christ, the newborn King. 3. Sages, leave your contemplations; brighter visions beam afar; seek the great desire of nations; ye have seen his natal star: come and worship, come and worship, worship Christ, the newborn King. 4. Saints before the altar bending, watching long in hope and fear, suddenly the Lord, temple shall appear: come and worship, come and worship, worship Christ, the newborn King.

Scripture Matthew 22:1-14 Jesus again used parables in talking to the people. 2 The Kingdom of heaven is like this. Once there was a king who prepared a wedding feast for his son. 3 He sent his servants to tell the invited guests to come to the feast, but they did not want to come. 4 So he sent other servants with this message for the guests: ‘My feast is ready now; my steers and prize calves have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast!’ 5 But the...Continue reading

Prayer of Gratitude Generous God, for the abundance of your blessings to us, day by day and year by year, we give you our thanks.... For the simple pleasure of life: for garden harvests, coffee conversations, and familiar surroundings, for health and strength to appreciate the wonder of life, for needs met and desires fulfilled, we give you our thanks. For food to nourish body and spirit, for homes which supply shelter, which nurture order and beauty, and offer hospitality, we give you our thanks. With gifts of money which reach farther than we can manage ourselves, with deeds done in service of neighbour and stranger, with family and friends distant and nearby, we worship you, God, with grateful hearts and joyful spirit. Alleluia. Amen. Hymn VU 520 We Plough the Fields Please click this link to go to YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccVEjKFkAV4 1. We plough the fields and scatter the good seed on the land, but it is fed and watered by your almighty hand; you send the snow in winter, the warmth to swell the grain, the breezes and the sunshine, and soft refreshing rain. All good gifts around us are sent from heaven above; we thank you, God, O holy God, for all your love. 2. You only are the maker of all things near and far; you paint the wayside flower, you light the evening star; the winds and waves obey you, by you the birds are fed; much more to us, your children, you give us daily bread. All good gifts around us are sent from heaven above; we thank you, God, O holy God, for all your love. 3. We thank yon then, O Maker, for all things bright and good, the seed-time and the harvest, our life, our health, our food; accept the gifts we offer for all your love imparts, and, what from us you long for, our humble, thankful hearts. All good gifts around us are sent from heaven above; we thank you, God, O holy God, for all your love.

Announcements... If you need pastoral care, feel free to contact me (204) 414-7809 or email [email protected] Rev. Taeil Yang Preparation Put slices of bread and a cup of grape juice or wine on the table. Welcome A warm welcome to you on this World Communion Sunday. We come to worship the one who sustains us and sustains the whole world. We listen to where creation is yearning to be cared for, where people are waiting longingly for God’s grace, and where Jesus is calling us to serve with him so all people are nourished and sustained. Acknowleging the Territory In this region we live and work and worship on Treaty One land, in the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree and Dakota peoples and in the heart of the Métis Nation. May we live with respect on this land and live in peace and friendship with its peoples. Call to Worship We gather to celebrate God’s word. We gather to rejoice in this abundant love. We gather to eat and remember. Come let us worship. Opening Prayer God, we give thanks for the beauty that surrounds us. We sense the smell of the food that sustains us. We feel hugs and greetings that nurture us. We hear laughter and song that nourish us. Remind us to listen your word, the moans and joys. Teach us to care for and treasure your body, your world, as we do our own. We pray in Jesus’ name, who offers us the bread of life, Amen. Hymn VU 296 This is God’s Wondrous World Please click this link to go to YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98oe0RdZpO4 1. This is God’s wondrous world, and to my listening ears all nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres. This is God’s wondrous world; I rest me in the thought of rocks and trees, of skies and seas, God’s hand the wondrous wrought. 2. This is God’s wondrous world: the birds their carol raise; the morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker’s praise. This is God’s wondrous world: God shines in all that’s fair; in the rustling grass or mountain pass, God’s voice speaks everywhere. 3. This is God’s wondrous world: O let me ne’er forget that though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet. This is God’s wondrous world: why should my heart be sad? Let voices sing, let the heavens ring: God reigns, let earth be glad!

Planning for the 2nd Annual Presents for Parents or your special person. Children come and pick two items to give to their special persons on Christmas. Sponsor...ed by Madeline Armstrong Local Inc and Teulon United Church. Last year we put through 350 children totalling 700 gifts. We rely on some crazy thrift shopping, gift and monetary donations to make this happen. This year we are hoping to be able to meet COVID19 public health measures and do it all again. Seeing the children’s smiles and listening to all their reasons why they choose the gifts they did was so heartwarming. It is a great outreach for our communities. If you have items to donate or regift please message me and I will arrange pickup or drop off. Here are some photos from last year. Note the snow globes were the biggest sellers. See more

It’s a song of praise to the Maker, the thrush sings high in a tree. It’s a song of praise to the Maker, the gray whale sings in the sea. And by the Spirit you and I can join our voice to the holy cry and sing, sing, sing to the Maker too. 2. It’s a call of life to the Giver, when waves and waterfalls roar.
