I want to call this a Strawberry Swish but it sounds like dessert. It IS a pretty little confection of a bag. "Swish" handbag in Cherrywood leather with a panel of William Morris's The Strawberry Thief print in red. At about 10" wide, and with a crossbody strap, these are a perfect mid size bag. Zipper closure. $159 shipped free in North America. These will be available on the Online Handmade Market show website this weekend. Go to www.handmademarket.ca for more details.

Anyone who's known me for a while, knew this would eventually be coming. Here are some stages of creating a black Celtic applique hobo bag. . I have designed and made over 1000 Irish dancing costumes over the years. I love Celtic knotwork and always planned this but didn't think I'd get to it yet. However, this leather had a bit of a dye splash that I didn't notice until it was pieced together so I jumped in. . The nature of leather means all the thread ends need to be pull...ed to the back and tied off, as shown in the last picture. It is very time consuming but a nicer finish than backstitching. I did a couple of under/overs twice just to emphasize those lines. . The hardest part was not adding rhinestones. I plotted them out, of course, but nothing permanent, lol! See more
