Continuing to introduce some awesome people behind the scenes at TFKO. Please meet Alan Thibeau!! Here is what Alan has to say about his involvement with TFKO. "From a very young age, I have always loved to be on a bicycle. Later in life, when I discovered mountain biking , I found my true passion. Sharing this passion with my children has allowed me to appreciate the amazing gift that cycling is to any child. Now that my children are grown and have lives of their own, I hav...e the freedom and time to make it possible for other children to enjoy the sport of mountain biking. In 2019, Cat Weaver asked me to be a board member for Trips for Kids. I am thrilled and honoured to work with such a purpose-driven organization. I look very forward to helping more kids experience the exhilaration of mountain biking in the great outdoors. Alan quickly proved to be a great addition to our team. It's pretty clear to see from his photos that he always arrives with enthusiasm! Thank you Alan! See more

Since we can not be out riding with the youth, I thought it could be a good time to introduce some of the great people that are behind TFKO making decisions, and giving me guidance. Mike Nash has been behind the scenes at TFKO for over 10 years. In fact he was the one who suggested that I take the after school rides to the next level and get incorporated, acquire sponsorship and grow the program. Mike's passion for cycling is pretty impressive. Mike holds Ontario Elite TT Cha...mpionships in 2008, Master World 1hour record in 2011, Canadian Elite record in 2018 and Canadian Master 1 hour record in 2018. These are just a few of his extraordinary accomplishments. Mike's dedication to TFKO for so many years is out of his love to improve the lives of young people through outdoor experiences. Thank you Mike Nash for a decade of support that has grown TFKO to what we are today! See more

Spring is almost here and normally we would be busy preparing for another season of bike adventures. We know our riders love to get outdoors and play, and we enjoy seeing how they progress as the season unfolds. However, these are not ordinary times and the health and safety of our participants and volunteers is the main thing on our minds. Sadly, the Board of Directors of TFKO is officially announcing that all ride activities for the spring season, in all locations, will be... cancelled. It is difficult to make predictions at this time regarding activities further into the future. We will be guided by directives from our public health authorities, as well as best practices from schools or other activity organizers in determining how and when our programs may safely resume. We will post any updates on our Facebook page. In the interim we will be working behind the scenes so that we can adapt quickly when the time comes to get back out. We know this is a challenging time for many families who are seeing loved ones suffer with illness, struggling to help children out of school or facing economic difficulties. Our hearts go out to you. Please follow public health advice to help defeat this virus so that we can all get back out on the trails someday soon.

Trips For Kids Ottawa sends out thanks to Wall sound lighting. They took our bikes, wrapped them up tight and will store them safely for the winter. Thank you Ellen Lee for making this happen! Thanks Chris Boyen for helping with the move! http://www.wallsound-lighting.com
