There are 2 types of Thai Massage: the Northern and the Southern styles. The style that I practice is the Northern style: Nuad No Rarn. This style is more about enjoyment, relaxation, slow and dance like movements while using pressure on the muscles and stretches. If you have ever been "beaten" by a little Thai lady who seemed to laugh at your pain tolerance and call over her friends to watch you being tortured, chances are, that was the Southern style: Wat Po. This style has more of the approach of "no pain, no gain", and uses a lot of pressure points and extreme movements.
