Over the years I’ve worked with 4 personal trainers. My time with 3 ended primarily due to relocation but my experience with all was great! After being posted... to YEG and knowing that our posting season was done, I join a gym and after a short time, Ian became my trainer. I have worked with Ian since 2014. My family has also worked with Ian and Jess over the years. Over the years of working with me, he has figured me out, understands my learning style, knows my limits and knows that sometimes my frustrations are shown with tears . Thanks to #dietculture I’ve believed in a lot #pseudoscience and treated nutrition like a belief and this is only half of the stuff I use to believe (there wasn’t enough room ) Thankfully I found #science and that changed my life and how I perceived diet which is defined as the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats. Which isn’t the same as what Karen says you should eat on Facebook or what someone says in a Netflix documentary (which I’ve be...en guilty of doing). Once you free yourself from diet culture and turn to science nutrition is #easyAF - eat whole unprocessed foods the majority of the time but still treat #yoself science has made some tasty ass food but remember highly palatable foods taste delicious and are designed to make you want more and that’s why they are suggested to have only once and awhile! Struggling with nighttime hunger? Me too! Here are some strategies my clients find helpful! ... 1. Having a lower calorie breakfast, this is only if they aren’t hungry in the am 2. Prelogging what they’d like to eat that night and working around it. An example would be prelogging a smoothie or a couple of snacks they feel like having 3. Picking high protein foods, protein is filling and helps with satiety 4. Including fibre with their last meal. An example would be choosing some berries, popcorn, oats or almonds 5. Pick a meal that has a lot of volume. An example would be a protein smoothie made with berries, protein powder and water. Another one would be an egg white vegetable scramble See more
