Honoured to represent The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada as an invited guest at The Army League of Canada’s Fraser Valley Vimy Memorial Parade in Cloverdale t...oday. It was nice to see the hundreds of Army Cadets on Parade from different Regimental Affiliations including 2893 POCO, 1867 Delta, 2277 Langley and 2812 Surrey Seaforth Cadets, their Officers along with several MLA’s, MP’s, Mayors, City Councillors, Legion Members, friends and families. The cadets were fantastic. A well organized event. Kudos to the organizers and cadets...a job well done. See more

We received this kind note from one of our Chairs in the Fraser Valley. ‘Hi there- thought I’d pass on a note from one of our parents: I wanted to share an experience I had with some Cadets after the ceremony on Sunday. There was a group of about 8 Cadets (at least 4 from our Corps but don’t ask me who) that were laying flowers on the gravestones of the veterans. As they were coming to the last part of the graveyard, the Cadets ran out of flowers. When they discovered t...hat there were no more available at the tents, they discussed what they could do and how they could thank them. At the end, they decided that they would lay their poppies instead so that more Veterans could be honoured. Just listening to the conversation and the caring and thoughtfulness that they displayed was very touching. You should be very proud of the work that you are doing and what you are instilling into each of these young people. Isn’t this why we do this??
