The Apple Guy 02.10.2020

My first official summer fruit of 2020 will be in the store Wednesday. The first pick of cherries are here! We also have a small sampling of English peas, a few pounds of Osoyoos strawberries, and all the amazing Grand Forks greens from my parents farm! The heat might not be here, but at last we've got the flavours of summer!

It's our final week of new plant arrivals! I was able to find some flowers this week, we now have marigolds, petunias and geraniums in stock. Not a large amount of stock though, so don't miss out! We still have trays of tomatoes, peppers, and cukes as well!

It's time for bedding plants! We just received our first batch of flowers and veggies, everything from singles to hanging baskets! Sorry, no Tomatoes, peppers, or cucumbers yet! Those three will be available in early May. We have things spread out for easy social distancing as well!

It's been a long wait, but I finally know what most of my bare root fruit tree stock will be! The trees arrive this Friday, and all trees will be $28.00 this year. We will have: McIntosh Apples, Canadian Harmony Peaches ( winter hardy freestone), Red Haven Peaches, Italian Prune, Goldbar and Rival apricots, and Red Gold Nectarines. For those waiting for other apple varieties and lapin cherries, I'll be hearing back from the nursery on Friday as to if we will be getting that stock this year.

Another week, and more fun stuff added to the list. To give everyone an extra place to shop I've started bringing in produce I don't usually have. So fresh this week are salad greens, celery, green onions, and cukes! Most of these are are from California or Mexico, but I do have long English cukes from BC and salad greens from Alberta!

I've been getting a few calls, so please let your friends know that we are open! Sticking with winter hours for now, Wednesday to Saturday from 10-5. We have a large selection of apples at this time, and more veggies arriving soon. I have shipments coming in Wednesday March 25 that will restock us with potatoes, carrots, onions, and other essentials. We've also started receiving the first bulbs and food plants of the year! It's a dark time, but the spring is here and that sun will only get warmer! And in the words of a great man, "Remember, I'm pulling for you. We're all in this together!" - Red Green

Oranges! I slipped up a bit in ordering this week so we have a huge pile of tasty California Satsumas (similar to mandarins) to get through! $9.45 for a 5lb bag. We also have a couple boxes of beautiful brussel sprouts, they're from the lower mainland. And our apple sale is still going strong!

The Apple Guy 07.05.2020

The final three weeks are on! We will be closing December 20th, the Friday before Christmas. With that in mind it's time for a sale! Grand Forks Gala and our Okanagan Ambrosia will be .50c lb, for 5lbs or more! Fuji, Salish, Honeycrisp, and Nicola apples will all be .90c lb or less. These prices will stand until I close for the season, limited availability on some of these varieties so don't wait until the last day! We also have a great selection of local cheese, jams, and hand crafted gifts! See you soon! Merry Christmas!
