The National Mood 15.10.2020 I want to write a poem That will lift the National mood to remind anyone who’s reading it... Of how our future can viewed I’d be the very first to say that things right now aren’t great But if we don’t find some positivity It might all be too late Everything that’s happening With this virus and division Whilst difficult to overcome Comes down to one decision Accept it and adapt to it And forget our differences right now Whatever we are dealing with We’ll get over it somehow I’ve struggled with so many things Since this pandemic began But there’s always a solution There has to be a plan To start with if we bicker It won’t do us any good We have to lower expectations Of being agreed with or understood Accept that we’re all human We’re bound to make mistakes And whilst politics are important There’s more important things at stake Wherever you might come from Whatever colour of your skin However unequal things might be for us Right now there are more important things I don’t expect you to lose your anger Or to let go of your fight But the fight is so much bigger Then who is wrong and who is right The challenge that we’re facing Is far greater than you think The country’s at a turning point If we don’t pull together we will sink So I think that all I’m suggesting is We put our fight and hate on pause Take our enemies by the hand And fight together the bigger cause If we’re willing to accept our differences Even when things seem so bleak We’ll be a stronger country in the future And won’t all feel so helpless and so weak Nobody is perfect, everyone has faults Open up that hidden chamber Pull out acceptance from it’s vaults Be kinder when you disagree Be friendlier to your foes We have far more in us in common Than you might accept or know It’s that human commonality As soppy as it sounds Which will overcome this challenge As covid delivers it’s second round We are at that point in history Where we can stand together strong Or lose everything for everyone And that ending feels so wrong Let’s put our heads together Throw our differences to one side Forget our party politics And not give them their divide That’s exactly what they want from us That’s how the wheel of power turns And each time we divide ourselves We see another freedom burn The general feeling in society Is ‘be tough don’t let them in’ But when faced with bigger challenges This division let’s the virus win If we find a problem let’s work together to resolve it We have the greatest minds amongst us Don’t let it beat us, come on! let’s solve it!

Good morning from Essen, Germany! This dreamy fall scene is on the bank of Lake Baldeney. The reservoir in Germany's Ruhr region is a peaceful spot to take a st...roll under the canopy of trees as they change to rich hues of orange, yellow and red. The area also allows camping and has an array of cozy restaurants and cafes! Would you like to spend a weekend here? Lake Baldeney, Essen, Germany @chribeu See more

For World Mental Health Awareness Day 2020 Governed by our gravity 10.10.2020 What an incredible fleshy spongy thing ... this brain of ours can be Who would have thought this little bit of meat could cause such turmoil internally The voice others hear outside our head Is not the one deep down within It externalises one fallacy But inside is where the lie begins Like a little piece of karma For each bad thought that you think It turns itself upon itself Stepping closer to the brink The voice of all your enemies Those quick to blame or judge It absorbs those fears and feeds on them Gives ‘Brinkiness’ another little nudge allowing thoughts to fester Like a time bomb slowly ticking As the tension music rises The little Ninja keeps on kicking It tantalises negativity Hides behind it’s own disguises It’s like ‘the Great Pretender’ An expert at deception and surprises It propels you into outer space To the limits of the skies as you reach its outer hemisphere It’s propulsion quickly dies You descend so fast it’s frightening As you fall the rockets all burnout We’re governed by our gravity Thats what ‘feeling down’ is all about If you give your mind too much power and don’t keep it in line It will behave just like a creeping flower And let it’s own roots intertwine It’s roots become entangled It ties your thoughts in knots Sending mixed signals everywhere Like a malfunctioning robot Electric pulses all colliding Short circuiting all the time You try to put the fires out But don’t quite get there in time The fire spreads and multiplies An inferno in your head Poor mental health is catastrophic It fills the mind with doubt and dread Convinces you, it captivates Puts obstacles in the way Dead heads all your creeping flowers Before the stem has time to sway Its a constant conversation A dialogue we do With that spongy flesh behind the mesh That makes you not like being you I’d like to write about pulling through And solutions where I can But it’s important to hear the symptoms From an empathetic man By Dean Jones, Bard of Buckingham
