Health and safety has always been our number one priority and although we feel we can organize a safe event the number of uncontrolled variables are just to big to overcome. Minor Hockey /Figure Skating Updated Monday October 26th - We still ask that children enter the building 15 min prior to session and leave 15 min after scheduled session.... - All skaters MUST wear a mask until they are ready to go on the ice. - Coaches must promote physical distancing as much as possible dressing rooms/ benches/ice surface - The arena will still follow the front door/back door system with 15 minutes between sessions. Doors will remain unlocked and parents must enter the building the same side as their child’s designated door. Also, parents are asked to stay on their designated half of the building. - Each player is permitted a max of 2 people in the building with them during their designated time slot. - All Visitors of facility will always be asked to wear a mask and to practice social distancing outside their bubbles. - Self screening is now permitted, it is voluntary for parents/guardians to sign the sheet for contact tracing purposes. If a small child is in the building with a parent, they are always required to sit next to the parent. Coaches are encouraged to keep attendance during all sessions. - Players who have back to back sessions do not need to exit the building but must go straight to the dressing room during their second slot. Players MUST exit through the assigned door of their last time slot. - Players in the back rooms are permitted to go to Frenchys Pro Shop if need be. - If you have any Symptoms please DO NOT enter the building.. Effective Monday October 19th We would like to thank everyone for your cooperation during our first week of the season. We understand everyone’s frustration with the new guidelines but our goal is to see some form of hockey in our rink for the full season,not to go back to normal and be shut down in November. So today we have decided that 1 parent per child is now permitted across ALL age groups as we know many are anxious to see their child play.... Masks are required at all times Please practice safe social distancing and everyone must sign in when entering the building.. We will re-evaluate again after week 2. We are excited to be open and had an awesome first few days!! A few reminders of our New guidelines as things run a little different now. A mask is required at all times in our building, unless you are on the ice involved in an activity. Please respect the social distancing guidelines for the safety of you and others. Markers have been place around the stadium for you to use. Your social bubble at home does not apply here. If you are feeling unwell, stay home.... The doors to our building are locked, please use the doors designated to your user group. Frenchy's Pro Shop will use the side door on the RCMP side. Tentatively until Oct 26th, only 1 spectator per child under the age of 12. Kids 12 and over can be dropped off and picked up at their designated door. Adult & Tot skating will start Oct 13th, 2020. Adult Skating Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:30am... Tot Skating Tuesday and Thursday 10:30am 2 guardians permitted, preferably 1 on ice (no charge). *No gathering in benches, social distancing must be maintained on and off the ice and spectators may watch from the designated areas marked in the arena. *There will be marked enter and exit gates. *Masks must be worn in the arena, with the exception to those who are on the ice skating. *You can enter the building 15minutes prior to start time and must be exited 15minutes after session ends. Cost $4/ session $30/ 10 session pass

All eyes will be one the TV this evening as Dawson Mercer is about to drafted to the NHL.. We are all very proud and I’m guessing many people will have a new favourite team in the NHL to cheer for next season...

BR8KAWAY HOCKEY is pleased to announce, we are now taking registrations for our Summer Hockey Camps this August (Summer 2020) at the Danny Cleary Hr. Grace Comm...unity Centre. Our camps will run the weeks of August 3rd, 2020 and August 17, 2020. Camps will run with age groups only and just 20 spots in each group! Due to the uncertainty of timelines related to the Corvid -19 virus, the Town of Bay Roberts has decided to not permit any large scale g...atherings at the Bay Arena for an indefinite period of time. A number of events will be immediately impacted and all groups have been notified. Listed below are the events, stating if they are canceled or postponed: Ascension Grad - Postponed (TBD) Songs Stages and Seafood Festival - Canceled Catherine's Dance Studio (Year End Recital )- Postponed TBD Bay Wheels - Postponed - TBD It takes a tremendous amount of planning and preparation, we will work with each group to provide the facility when a decision is made to go ahead with these events in the future. NOTE: NO ANNOUNCEMENT HAS BEEN MADE REGARDING LIGHT THE LAMP AND THE NL/LAB SUMMER GAMES.. A decision on these events will be announced in the coming weeks.
