As a Florist, We are usually the ones sending sympathy tributes.. making memorial Wreaths, and sending floral tributes. We are recovering from the death of our son, Steven Overmeer. As parents, we hold on tightly to our kids when they are little, then we have to learn to let them go once they finish College or University. This is just very, very difficult. The final good bye. RIP Steven, 1980-2021.

Sammy.... People often ask if I have a favorite animal on the farm. I really don’t. Each one is a unique being that brings their own special energy to Patina F...arm. Sammy became part of our family almost three years ago. He and his sister, Ida, are named after my grandparents. They are a bonded pair of goats and are never very far away from each other. Sammy is our little comedian. Even at an early age, his sideways dances and full body leaps made us all laugh so hard it hurt. He is one of the most affectionate goats, always running up to greet us for morning rubs and hugs. Sometimes when I’m cleaning the barn in the morning I get too wrapped up in the meaningless chatter in my head. I forget to give Sammy his morning love. That’s when Sammy stands right in front of me on the goat shelf so we are face to face. This is Sammy’s way of telling me to slow down, enjoy the moment, and focus on what’s important. A few questions about our Winter Wreaths... "will they last until Christmas?" We make our wreaths from Northern Ontario greens that have been hardened off..this... means we need to have at least 3 consecutive below zero nights. So yes, our Winter designs often last well beyond Christmas. Our Dried Designs...."what will I do when they get dusty?" You keep them for 1 year, then put them on the compost pile.
