In light of the current COVID 19 situation, we are limiting contact between staff and clients by not allowing clients into the clinic. Please call the clinic ahead of time for your needs. We will put your food or medication aside and take payment over the phone, then place it outside once you confirm by telephone you are here. This is to keep with social distancing, so we may stay healthy and continue to be open. The office telephone number is 250-741-0770. For booked a...ppointments, the same applies, please call us to advise us that you are here and we will come out and pick up your cat from outside the door. We can communicate either outside or on the telephone. Thank you in advance for your co-operation and patience in these trying and uncertain times. Sincerely , The staff at The Clinic for Cats

We understand that this Corona Virus issue is at the forefront of everyone's thoughts and we are taking steps to keep as safe and operational as possible. The staff are wearing masks and practicing social distancing. We have also increased our cleaning practices, enabled tap on our POS terminal and are asking if you are sick in any way to refrain from attending our facility. Please send a healthy family member to keep appointments and pick up supplies. We are experiencing a delay in some of our shipments by a day or two but are receiving our orders so no need to overstock at home. Please call ahead before picking up food & medications to ensure we have them in stock before you arrive. We all hope you stay healthy and look forward to calmer times.

Flea control is very important even during the winter months. We are still seeing fleas in the colder months and with it its ugly counterpart the tapeworm. Vancouver Island does not receive the cold necessary (-10 degrees Celsius for 10 days in a row) to eliminate fleas in our environment. We have a variety of flea products to use including Revolution, Bravecto, Advantage, and Primidicide. We recommend deworming your cat at least once a year (more for avid the hunter), however if tapeworm segments are seen we recommend treating two consecutive months in a row. Please come in or call (250-741-0770) to discuss which product is best suited for your kitty.
