Our moisturizing and medicinal skin salves are available on the online Hazelton farmer's market! https://www.localline.ca/hazelton Check out our new Summer Skin Salve for all your skin's summer woes (mosquito bites, scraped knees, sunburns, etc.), as well as the rest of our salves and other awesome gems made by Hazeltonians.
On May 1 2020 we celebrated Beltane to welcome the start of the summer and to wish for a fertile growing season. Beltane is the Gaelic May Day festival where people celebrate the fertility and abundance as well as the start of summer. A common thing to do is to raise a pole, the Maypole. We had a pole to raise for a future basketball hoop and decided to raise it that day. [ 111 more words ] http://thecommonunityproject.com///22/beltane-celebration/

Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. Recently folks at TCUP attended a weekend long community building workshop. It was truly profound.

Mother is half German-Shepherd half Border Collie, great farm dog, good with cats, children, and chickens. Father is a Pitbull-Shar-Pei Mutt. 9 puppies, 2 spoken for. Ready to go 1st of November. Sliding scale donation of $10-50 to help compensate for the price of puppy food.
Namgar's nine puppies. Border Collie-German Shepherd Mutts! :)
A look inside the Acorn community in Virginia. Members of TCUP visited this community in 2014, it was a major inspiration for our project here.
Individual actions like recycling are nowhere near enough. We have to challenge corporate power. "While we busy ourselves greening our personal lives, fossil f...uel corporations are rendering these efforts irrelevant. The breakdown of carbon emissions since 1988? A hundred companies alone are responsible for an astonishing 71 percent. You tinker with those pens or that panel; they go on torching the planet. The freedom of these corporations to pollute and the fixation on a feeble lifestyle response is no accident. It is the result of an ideological war, waged over the last forty years, against the possibility of collective action. Devastatingly successful, it is not too late to reverse it."

2017 INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY. Since the beginning of our project we have hosted some amazing people from near and far who have helped us build our collective dream. We are deeply grateful for the friendships we have made. We try to create an environment here that allows people to feel a sense of freedom from the usual entanglements of their everyday lives. We have gained some skills along the way and are happy to share them to willing minds. In 2017 we will be offering a more formal, yet still informal internship opportunity for 3 to 5 people. if you or anyone you know is interested in gaining some hands on skills and having an all round good time check out our Web page @ www.thecommonunityproject.com
