March = Change Change is in the air especially when it comes to mountain conditions. It is a month were it slowly transitions into more of a spring snowpack. ... As temperatures get warmer, the tree skiing gets worse and push’s us into the alpine. We start dreaming of bluebird alpine days but the snowpack is still in a transition phase. This is the time of year when we have many bad accidents and close calls. Everyday I go out at this time of year, I keep this in the back of my brain. Making sure I’m skiing a slope for the right reasons. Play safe out there, lots of winter left. @avalanchecanada

Think it's too early for avalanches? Think again. This one took place a few days ago on Idaho Peak in the Slocan Valley of the Selkirk Mountains BC. The Crown ...was 45cm deep and ~60m wide. The Avalanche ran ~350m, into the small trees below. It was skier triggered and there were no injuries. Be safe out there everyone! More: http://bit.ly/2MC5AIn

Courses include: AST 1 - Dec 15/16 A...ST Refresher and Companion Rescue - Dec 8/9 These are each capped at 8 people and are priced the same as courses that will often have 30 or more people.
